Really on the fence about recommending this. What it does well, it does very well. The voice acting and performances are genuinely great and the visual design is genuinely some of the best I've seen in a game (the villa in particular being a highlight). The gameplay, while very simple can be fun once you get into the swing of it.

My issue is with the pacing and length of the game. The game is very short. Judging by the achievements, I'm about two-thirds of the way through the game, and I'm just under 3 hours in. I have been taking the time to explore the areas as well, so this isn't the pace of someone rushing through to the end. The plot really really suffers because of this, as there is very little time to develop characters before the story moves on. A longer prologue (like, much longer) would have been great.

1348 feels like it was rushed out to release by the publishers, and whether that's true or not I don't know. I have enjoyed my time so far, and I don't feel like I've been ripped off at all, but as it is right now I can probably only give the game a 5 or a 6 out of 10 at most. I am really hoping patches can maybe alleviate some of the issues here because the core of the game is really solid.

Shockingly bad release. The game runs incredibly poorly even on the lowest settings and with DLSS enabled. The gameplay somehow feels markedly worse than the demo. Despite being delayed by a month, there are still incredibly glaring issues that have somehow not been addressed (missing geometry in the Slums level etc.) After having this long to work on the game, and delaying it for a month, I don't think it's acceptable to just brush off issues with the excuse of "wait for a day 1 patch".

EDIT 15/02/26: The game is much improved now than it was on Day 1. Performance is still not great, but playable. Gameplay feels better than the demo now, armour customisation is fun, and the new modifiers to matches are interesting. Would recommend :)

I really, really want to love this game. I've been looking forward to it since 2017 when the first trailer was shown off, and I've stuck around for 6 years since then. Unfortunately, the game has been a broken, buggy mess since the first day it entered early access almost two years ago, and even in 1.0 it is still a ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ of a game.

The AI for suspects is just blatantly unfair as dozens of videos on Youtube will show you, glitches both minor and major that have been in the game for years are still present even though this is apparently a full release, and in a game that claims to pride itself on minute details in the worldbuilding, they cut corners by using AI to generate artwork throughout the game. If you play solo, which is what the game should be built around as a spiritual successor to SWAT 4. you will almost certainly find it incredibly frustrating without mods that tone down the enemy AI's ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ reaction times and behaviours.

This game has so much potential, and it's upsetting to see how terribly the devs have taken handled nearly every aspect of it.

you can reload, kick people with your hands full, dodge roll on command, slow down time, order drinks to give yourself perks, there's bossfights that are actually interesting, you can fish

there's a lot of variety in the weaponry available to you, and the game massively emphasises experimenting with different weapons with how certain perks guide you towards building around a specific weapon type once you attain them.

one of the worst releases ive ever seen for a AAA game of this size. the campaign is borderline unplayable with how frequently it crashes, some of the worst maps ive ever seen in a COD game and ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ netcode
