I looked for something that made me say "Woah, that's amazing level design right there, I feel accomplished when making it through", like I did in Mega Man X, which is undoubtedly one of the best entries in the entire Mega Man series, already for it's Intro stage alone.
What I got...was the epitome of mediocrity with a washed out Mega Man stamp on it, simply because it uses it's mechanics in the most respectless way and was directed by the guy who made the original Mega Man games.
And that factor, that Inafune was directing the game himself, is the factor that hits home the most.
He should just know better than to take his own super successful series and draw every last bit of what made it good out of it.
I'm not really counting ASG as while having a MMZish framework, it's a different game compared to any other MM (though it's closest to MMZ, though that's still a decent distance)
I really enjoyed ASG though. It at least looks and sounds better than this game. And I agree that there is too much of an empasis on scoring instead of skill in that game too.
Also, 20XX is great, and I love how it's constantly being updated. The developer obviously loves what he's doing. :)
Good work
