This is a solid whodunit mystery game, better than the sequel.

Now I think, they really dropped the ball with the Tangle Tower -_-.

Ну как можно не рекомендовать эту игру? Это шедевр, а GlaDOS — one love.

Мы играем за Хэдли, молодую женщину, которая записалась на аборт и после укольчика проснулась в техногенном кошмаре. Поначалу непонятно, галлюцинация ли это, воплощение ее внутренних переживаний или какое-то параллельное измерение — все настолько чужеродно, враждебно и отвратительно. Прямо как в Sanitarium из конца 90-х :-).

Трудно рекомендовать эту игру каждому встречному-поперечному, и еще труднее знакомому. Но если вы тип со странностями, любите старые квесты и хорроры, то вам понравится :----).

P.S. Есть два плохих пазла, вот вам подсказки: сыпьте порошок на металлическую карту; лезвие + шест = рычаг >_>.

A pretty good adventure, though the 1st episode sucks monkey coconuts. The tight budget raises it head constantly, but the game becomes progressively better with each episode. However, the ending feels rushed and trite, while the rest of the game was suggesting that we're moving in a new direction – I presume, the developers were afraid to step too much aside. Alas.

My rating of the episodes (from best to worst): IV* > III > II > V > I.

On the scale of the Monkey Island games I'd place it somewhere in the midle - not funny enough.

* There's some pretty cruel handling of the paralyzed cat in the 4th episode. Old mooshy me found it to be in a very bad taste. My heart was freaking bleeding. I think they should have conjured a happy ending for it, or, at least, play it absurdly comedic. Poor Ms Pretty Whiskers!

I love everything about this game: visual style, animation, music, voices, characters, story... everything, except for the gameplay. I just can't play it – it's too hard, frantic, and harsh for the soft pony lover like me. And, please, don't tell me to "get good", I play games, especially with cutesy-wootsy animals, not to suffer endlessly, and I'm not inclined to spend my limited time mastering obscure 2D figting discipline. It boggles me how something so innocent-looking can be so hardcore.

My experience with fighting games is limited to Midway and NetherRealm Studios' projects, and never have I felt so utterly helpless and defeated. Everyone writes how easy and approachable it is – I don't understand it – any MK game is way more "friendly" (yes, the game with broken spines and killer ninjas).

Again, I want to stress that it's probably a splendid 2D figting game, and most certainly is unique and beatiful, but it's not for general audience.

It's an action puzzle game about choo-choos and chuga-chugas in which you place tracks to avoid trains smashing into each other. Or do it on purpose to get the achievement.

Quite addictive. And nicely constructed rail system just makes you feel good.

It's very similiar to an old DOS game I loved as a schoolboy, not sure if it's from the same creators or not. But it's funny that there're at least three train puzzle games with the same gameplay.

The first boss is ridiculously overpowered, he's like a copy protection tool – no way you can beat him by just playing, it's an iron man gauntlet. I guess, no one tested the game. The dialogues thus far were pretty amateurish.

BTW, you can choose to play as a chold, but it accounts to nothing. Like – what's the point?

I have no time, no desire to waste the time wiith it. And I liked the 1st. I think. It was a long time ago.

It's stunningly beautiful most of the time and the characters are very lovely, as the overall atmosphere, but it's a real challenge to trudge across. God, so much backtracking and constant pixel hunting everywhere – this feature of "looking for clues" is a sadistic joke: sometimes you need to find an interactive spot, but most times it's just a collectible, but you can never be sure!

And there's not enough detective work. What bogs me down is that Jenny chews up every solution to little puzzles there are, leaving nothing for the player, and that there are SO MUCH WALKING /climbing back and forth around the most SPACIOUS of LOCATIONS (no fast travel for ya, and required interactive objects can be screens and screens apart).

And there's very little interactivity with the most common interaction with the world being tapping the action button few times. Need to find a specific grave? Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap it and Jenny will find it. Need to make a conclusion? Tap-tap-tap-tap-tap it and Jenny will make it. This tap-tap-taping is downright downgrading / borderline interactive movie with the play button jamming constantly, if not for the tedious treading.

Oh, and the mouse is not supported. MOUSE in the ADVENTURE game is not supported, not even for menus. It's so awkward to navigate and for some reason near the end, the game starts to think that it's Prince of Persia. Thank god, you can re-map keys, but it's still can't be played with one hand comfortably. And I love my detective adventures with a cup of tea, reclining.

And worst of all, the story drops on the cliffhanger with no answers given to anything. I poured 10+ hours into jogging across the screens to get more questions >:-/. What's up with devs and cliffhangers in their debut projects? I'm freaking torn. The visuals, the style, the voices, the premiss are SUPER WELLDONE and captivating, but the (semi-)final result is not a good game.

I guess there were either no passionate gamedesigners on the team (just writers and artists), or there was one particular super savvy producer, pushing it to the vastest auditory possible, which often means to no one. Eh.
