A bigmouth arcade masterpiece in guppy's clothing: a dopey tongue-in-cheek facade belies a three-decade-honed gameplay loop. The player fights the tight time limits more so than the AI bass, which are lovingly coded and animated. The clock is daunting for the first few hours, but it becomes exhilarating quickly. Once the player learns the lure behaviors, the game becomes almost a crane game with a lot of visual hints. Paying attention to the visuals around when luring or reeling will pay off immensely. I got this version for free but I bought a Dreamcast fishing rod and official copy off eBay within a week of playing the Steam version.
