Hadn't played in a while, but as some point paradox made the AIs ships unkillable, resulting in an enemy federation fleet endlessly respawning in a system, only to get insta-nuked and then respawn 2 days later. Same with regular fleets where i'd check the report after ~500k vs 500k fights where i'd lose half my ships and kill maybe 2 corvettes, if that.

Basically still a broken mess, but the economic AI can at least look like it functions on the hardest difficulty now.

The game is a broken buggy mess. Mission objectives will fail to register and killing enemies can crash the game.

I am also not a fan of the more granular 1-person turns over the letting you co-ordinate your entire team's actions. As is, every character has to be able to self synergize to the point that it doesn't matter what anyone else is doing. It makes everyone powerful (on normal difficulty), but shallow.

8h in i have yet to find story beyond "We are cops that spend every day gunning down masked hoodlums".

30 years of getting enough iron mines to support your build queue, 70 years of building nothing but railways and powerstations. 0 years of interesting choices to be made.

Somehow worse than DD1 in every way.

The mechanics have changed since the first game from a % chance to dodge or protection to 1 time use tokens stacking up to 3 times, meaning protection is next to useless against bosses and dodge tokens have 50% chance to do literally nothing and still be spent.

The balance of the game feels completely off with chaff fights being completely pointless, being piss easy and give little rewards, while the bosses will insta-wipe anyone who isn't specifically geared to kill them. As far as i can tell this is because nothing has innate dodge now, meaning all attacks hit by default, melting anything that cant take 30+ damage every round (including your heroes).

I feel like I've made zero meaningful choices steering the cart. Metaprogression>Loot>No Loot

While I love Wayne June's narration, he plays a much less interesting character this time. Also, due to the games rogue-like nature the limited lines he has for the start of the game have become extremely grating.

Bashing your head against a brick wall for 10h is not fun, read the lore online and spend your money elsewhere.

Much adoo has been made about how cyberpunk has improved with the 1.5 update. I don't know what it was like at launch, but holy ♥♥♥♥ is it a jankfest at the moment.

Stealth takedowns don't work half the time and quests get tangled into themselves since the multiple ways to solve missions aren't designed to be hopped between.

Stay away, buy literally any other GTA clone produced. The game is basically Watch_Dogs with a more self aware protagonist.

Update after 20 more hours because steam wanted me to revise the review: Yup, still Watch_Dogs with Bethesda quality bugs. Keep saving and you wont lose anything except time.

Climbing was taken out and was replaced with all combat. Combat and graphics improved.

Basically FTL but more involved and a lot fancier.

Come for the silly character, stay because the damned elevator section is broken and let's you ♥♥♥♥ yourself over without warning, making you play trough the game again for the other endings.

The game lets you move freely while subduing enemies, making it the best stealth game to date. No pre-animated press x to take down.
