As someone who is brand new to the Civilization franchise, and strategy games in general, I can honestly say that this game exceeded my expectations.
I had a friend shoot me a message saying to pick up this game a few weeks back so that a group of us could play it together. I was skeptical at first, as I never had any experience with strategy games, but ultimately figured, why not? It took some time to understand the mechanics of the game, as well as figuring out the best way to go about establishing new cities and such, as well as play with culture and religions, but the more I played, the more I learned (surprise surprise). I began to enjoy the game quite thoroughly, staying up late into the morning hours to continue playing a world we had started that past evening. Civilization 6 has been a great introduction into the strategy game genre for me, and I look forward to discovering more games like this. There is just something so rewarding about successfully building up my nation and each game is never the same.
