I wish more games had as much depth and choice in their plot as this one does. The forks in the plot are really impressive. The combat is well designed and the music is amazing. The changes from the PSP version are mostly good. I'm still not sure I like the union level but the cards on the battlefield add a fun bit of strategy to where you move. It's just nice to finally get this game on a PC where I don't have to worry about Sony or Nintendo etc shutting down a store so I can never play it again.
The optional dungeons near and post game are a bit much. There's no need to have more maps in one dungeon than actual plot levels in a regular play through of the game. But, it is optional so you don't have to do it by any means and it does give you a lot of content for your dollar.
It really requires a guide to do most of the character recruiting. The game is not going to explain what you need to do like a more modern title would.
Overall, I would highly recommend it if you like this genre it's one of the greats - just have a guide open while you work through.
