Hands down, one of the best games of all time. It is a little niche, but if you at all like medieval history, sword fighting, and RPGs even a little this game is underrated gem. Because it isn't an arcadey game it likely won't make any nostalgia lists to revive it, but if you haven't purchased this game yet, *do it now*. It does everything it set out to do and gets it done in just the right way.

On the DLC: The DLC that has come out for the game is a bit of a mixed bag. The first handful are mere cash grabs, but the more recent ones are worth the money. Either way I would throw money at all of them again just to get the Devs to make KCD2.
