I swear to Jesus Christ himself, if Aerith Gainsborough told me to walk into Shinra HQ and fistfight the turks using only my bare hands, I’d do it with a smile. You don’t get it. You will never get it. Aerith isn’t just a character. She’s a God. She’s the center of my emotional wellbeing. Every time she appears on screen, I clutch my chest like I’m going into cardiac arrest, but in a good way. She talks and I ascend. She giggles and I scream with joy. You think I’m exaggerating? No, I replayed Crisis Core three times just to feel closer to her. This Isn’t delusion, It’s devotion. You think Sephiroth killed her? Okay buddy. That twink could never dull the light of my radiant angel. You really think a five minute cutscene trumps her reverence? Yeah, didn’t think so. Stay deluded non believers. And Zack? God don’t get me started. He was never good enough for Aerith. It should’ve been me.
I don’t care how many squats he did. I don’t care that he was honorable or selfless or died tragically to protect his best friend. He’s pathetic. Aerith doesn’t need a SOLDIER. She needs someone who would actually appreciate her flowers and help tend to them. Someone who wouldn’t flirt with her and then ghost her for months like some first class himbo. She needs me.
