This game holds a special place in my heart!
It wasn't my first Resident Evil, but it was my favorite nonetheless.
Of course, I've already played RE1 and 2 on the PSx and I liked them a lot.
Code Veronica X also liked me a lot. But RE4 was different. As was customary in the past, I started this game blindly. I expected a typical Resident Evil game and got a masterpiece of the extra class.

Compared to the previous Resident Evil games, the fixed camera angles that were typical up to that point were completely removed. Third person was included in the RE games for the first time. The first big surprise. The game is much more action-packed and has therefore given me even more fun. Unfortunately, the horror aspect suffers. There are only a few passages that are a little creepy. However, the atmosphere of the game is not less good, it is just different. Probably Metal Gear Solid ⅔ also contributed to the fact that I liked this type of game better than the typical RE gameplay.

This is an HD remaster from 2014. However, this is not particularly great. Unfortunately, there are bugs here that did not exist in the original. I don't remember which ones exactly, as it has been a few years since I last played it.
In addition, the textures are not high-resolution and even at the time of release, they looked old. But fortunately there is a real HD mod that eliminates all bugs and makes the textures shine in a new glory. Download HD Project [www.re4hd.com]

Unfortunately, the control was not overhauled and the game feels somewhat outdated due to Leon's stiff movement. But the mod has also been revised. Shooting and moving at the same time is not possible, however. That would change too much and affect the balance. For that reason, I think it's good as it is.

A must for any horror, action and Resident Evil fan. On offer, the game only costs 4.99€ and you can't do anything wrong - I think. The remake is coming soon and it would be interesting to draw a comparison. I'm mega excited about the remake!

Es war nicht mein erstes Resident Evil, aber dennoch mein liebstes.
Natürlich habe ich bereits RE1 und 2 auf der PSx gespielt und auch sehr gemocht.
Code Veronica X hat mir auch sehr gut gefallen. Aber RE4 war anders. Wie früher es so üblich war, bin ich blind in dieses Spiel gestartet. Ich habe ein typisches Resident Evil Spiel erwartet und bekam ein Meisterwerk der Extraklasse.

Im Vergleich zu den vorherigen Resident Evil Spielen wurden hier die bis dato typischen festen Kamerawinkel komplett entfernt. Third Person wurde hier erstmals in die RE Games eingebunden. Die erste große Überraschung. Das Spiel ist viel actionreicher und hat mir somit noch mehr Spaß bereitet.Schade ist nur, dass der Horror Aspekt darunter leidet. Es gibt nur wenige Passagen, die etwas gruselig sind. Allerdings ist die Atmosphäre des Spiels dadurch nicht weniger gut, sie ist nur anders. Wahrscheinlich trug auch Metal Gear Solid ⅔ dazu bei, dass mir diese Art Spiel besser gefiel, als das typische RE Gameplay.

Aber was rede ich da herum? Das weißt du doch sicherlich bereits alles. Was du eventuell noch nicht weißt ist, dass die Deutsche Version von RE4 HD 100% Uncut ist und es auch den Hordenmodus gibt, den es früher nicht bei uns gab.

Es handelt sich hierbei um ein HD Remaster von 2014. Allerdings ist diese nicht sonderlich großartig geworden. Leider gibt es hier Bugs, die es im Original nicht gab. Welche genau weiß ich nicht mehr, da es einige Jahre her ist, dass ich es zum letzten mal gespielt habe.
Zudem sind die Texturen nicht hochauflösend und die sahen selbst zu Zeiten des Releases alt aus. Aber glücklicherweise gibt es eine richtige HD Mod, welche alle Bugs beseitigt und die Texturen in einem neuen Glanz erstrahlen lassen. Download HD Project [www.re4hd.com]

Die Steuerung wurde leider nicht überarbeitet und das Spiel fühlt sich durch die steife Bewegung von Leon etwas altbacken an. Aber auch das hat die Mod überarbeitet. Schießen und sich gleichzeitig bewegen geht aber dennoch nicht. Das würde auch zu viel verändern und die Balance beeinträchtigen. Von daher finde ich es gut so.

Ein Muss für jeden Horror, Action und Resident Evil Fan. Im Angebot kostet das Spiel nur 4,99€ und da kann man nichts falsch machen - denke ich. Bald kommt das Remake und da wäre es doch interessant einen Vergleich ziehen zu können. Ich freue mich mega auf das Remake!
