May 6th Edit: WE DID IT BOYS, Sony backed down!

I want to make it clear, amazing game with amazing devs who actually talk to us and communicate sincerely, and I've never seen a game bring the community together like this. Top contender for game of the year.

But as of May 3rd 2024, that community unity was shattered by Sony, who are trying to make linking a Playstation Network account with your steam account mandatory by the end of the month. Their excuse is that this was always listed as a requirement and that it "improves their ability to handle cheaters and to ban people", but the game has functioned perfectly fine without it.

PSN is notorious for being hacked and having user data leaked.
Many countries are blacklisted on PSN, reducing the community forcibly.
Once you link your Steam with PSN it can't be undone because it requires the Playstation in-game menu which is not present on PC, unless you manage to make it through customer support purgatory.
And frankly, I don't trust a big company like Sony demanding something trivial and inconvenient.

I will not be playing Helldivers 2 until they make this change optional instead of mandatory. Once that happens I'll once more have a positive review.

If you were a fan of old shooters like Halo back in the day, you'll love this. If you like firefight fight-off-enemy-waves gamemodes, you'll adore it. And they're consistently updating it to be more and more open world to the point that it feels like a Halo-Skyrim baby with dinosaurs. It perfectly captures that run-and-gun fun factor that's absolutely priceless with your friends.

Bought the 4-pack for me and my buddies for $4. Best value for my money on Steam.
