This one is a lot of fun. I was a little confused by inventory management and how to collect resources, but that's largely because I haven't seen many games with this approach before. Destroying enemy stuff for scrap and sending it back in, researching guns instead of losing them to deaths. About an hour in, I began to grasp what I was doing and how to do it well.

I'm reminded a lot of XCOM in both the research/gathering elements and the combat. Careful aiming and dealing with cover seems to work better than running and gunning.

The color scheme (or deliberate lack thereof) is interesting. I can see being put off by it, but it works and looks great in motion and cutscenes too. The UI is hurt the most by it; some color there would have made things more approachable out the gate.

Will definitely be going back to play some more. It might get repetitive if you're struggling, but good runs can get some real distance.

Pong is the basic element here that they keep on enhancing upon after each battle, until you turn into some kind of brick wizard. Definitely lots of fun in here for the couple of bucks this game costs.

Even if you like Bubsy, this is criminally short for the pricetag. Cleared it no-effort in under an hour on my first run.

If you're looking for an alright single-player experience, this game is okay if fairly buggy [menus don't work sometimes, things break, data doesn't save very well]. Online multiplayer is the primary selling point of this game for me though, and it is a mess. Poorly balanced and buggy is just the beginning of it.

The worst thing about it is that only the host's game saves, so up to 3 people will have no progress at all in the campaign or even with the characters they've been playing. I hope that this is just another bug for the pile, because it gives you the option to 'save' but it doesn't work.

They multiply the enemy count based on how many players there are, to ridiculous levels where there are clown cars of enemies as soon as you enter any screen.

There's a wanted system for some reason, and all of these floods of enemies often trigger it on their own, causing even more enemies in the form of powerful police to show up.

There's nowhere near enough money to go around for 4 people to get any progress made at all.

Bug fixing needs to happen, and online play needs a closer look to understand the concept of 4-man multiplayer and what makes it fun [hint: not grinding money off hordes of guys for 2 hours just to get everyone started]

I want to like this game, as a big fan of Riki Kunio's series. Hope that they'll fix these things and turn it into a decent coop experience instead of a disaster.
