"From the ashes of depravity rises the phoenix of equality," How else to describe The Looker? Such a revolutionary step forward in the lineage of one of the most beloved video game properties of all time! The additions and changes made to this expansion will surely resonate in the annals of the history of all media ever made. It is perhaps true to say that no mistakes are forever etched in stone for the stone in which The Looker was carved has itself been transmuted, offering a message of hope to those who have ever erred in their judgement, "You are not beyond redemption. You may change and you may become more, so much more than you were before." If there is any message to be taken from The Looker it is this, "What a fortune, a privilege, a joy it is to have such an experience it leaves me hopeful that as a community - as a world, there is time for us to become our greatest selves as great as we could ever dream of in our wildest, most ambitious visions for a brighter future.

A very enjoyable weed business management simulator. I had a great time with this game, and I've only completed the first scenario so far. Would recommend!

Early Access Review
tl;dr: Final Fantasy Tactics, but on PC. Good game, highly recommend.

Backed this early for beta access, and it's great fun! The combat flows really nicely, you can play Fashion Souls with every recruit you have, and the game is super easy to customize. It's really tough but rewarding, and a really good game. I highly advise picking it up, for 20 bucks you can get a lot of enjoyment and hours out of it. It's early access, but it's really good and the developers are super active.

"I like to customize my murderous group of vagabonds. How fashionscape can I get?"

There's so much. Want to roll out an army of Santa Knockoffs? Go for it. Team of knights? Absolutely. Bright pink beards with wizard hats and spiky Raider gear? Your game, your choice. Here's a webm of me just mashing Randomize Appearance a bunch,

And here's my personal party configuration.

All the outfits are super cool, and there's gender unique options for most outfits. They're really nice looking, too.

"That's nice, but what about the class customization? Can I dual wield sledgehammers while ripping holes in space time?"

This is the real meat of the game, and where the comparisons to Tactics arises. And the answer to the above question is yes, yes you can.

With over 30 classes packing unique skillsets, passives, and reaction abilities, there's so many ways you can build a character you'll never run out of options to try and experiment with.

You're allowed to have 2 Skills, 4 Passives, and 1 Reaction.

The first Skill and first two Passives are your Primary class's skill and passives(if you've unlocked them).

The second Skill, the Reaction, and the last two Passives can be anything you have unlocked on that character from any of their known classes and abilities.

As an example, here's one of my characters, and how some minor skill tweaks changes her gameplay drastically.

This is Kyrie, my main Ranged team member. She's combining 3 different classes here, the Mercenary, the Ranger, and the Gunner.
Using the Gunner's firearm capabilities and access to Focus(double damage on your next offensive action), she can take up a position and rain bullets on the enemy squad. With Heavy Blows giving her 50% more damage on Critical Hits, and Know Weakness doubling my chance of landing a critical, she's going to be hitting super-powered crits incredibly often. However, she's not too tanky, so that Thorns reaction ability to deal some damage to people attacking her from ranged helps dissuade potential attackers.

Now, what if I want her to be a front-line soldier? Simple. Swap the two and sub out a few skills.

This character uses the same two classes, but now plays radically different. She's dropped the gun and traded it for a Sledgehammer and a tower shield(Sturdy Grip allows me to one-hand any two-handed weapon), and is ready for CQC action like they're Under Siege. Keeping Bullet Infusion allows me to use Focus to double the damage of my next offensive action I take. Life Font gives me free health for every tile I cross, combining that with a free Evasion buff just adds all that much more to Kyrie's combat survivability, on top of the Heavy Armor she has access to with Mercenary.

"You said it's like Tactics. I don't have to manually learn how to use every item on each character, right?"

Worry not, they took the much saner method of letting anyone use any item at any time. Hell, there's even a class later on dedicated to item usage, including turning any item into a 3x3 AoE. Job Experience is also awarded in bulk at the end of matches, instead of during them. You still level up and gain experience mid match, but Job Experience is granted at the end, with a bonus given to MVP team members. Spillover Job Experience is also a thing, with even benched party members getting some of that experience, along with everyone getting the job points regardless of whether they have that job unlocked or not at the time.

"All this job stuff is giving me flashbacks to losing one of my team members and having to train a recruit from scratch to replace a main mercenary on my team. Isn't that bad?"

Once again, worry not, for a solution to this is implemented. Four improvements have been made to hiring recruits in this game compared to Tactics:

1. All recruits have the same baseline stats regardless of gender. This also means you don't have to keep re-rolling until you get the best stats you want on a recruit.
2. All recruits upon purchase start with job experience averaged from your top 6 party members. You can recruit someone midway through the game and know that they'll have enough JEXP to catch up to speed with the rest of your party right quick.
3. You can recruit people as any class to start with, which ties into improvement 4.
4. You can recruit people up to your highest character level. This means you can skip out on manually level grinding someone as a Scoundrel for the first ten levels for that speed stat growth bonus, and just purchase a level 10 Scoundrel and immediately have them reclass into and train into their actual intended class. This works for any class you've unlocked in the game.

Overall, it's a great experience for veterans of Final Fantasy Tactics, and anyone looking for a great SRPG.

And this is why you don't work for people who don't understand the product they are selling.

At least the models and soundtrack are good.
