I tried to give it a second playthrough, but after getting maybe a half hour into it, it really just sunk in how ♥♥♥♥ it was. There was no agency to be seen in it at all. they would often give you choices that amounted to sure/yes/I guess/stay quiet. characters that i found at least a bit endearing on my first playthrough were insufferable (at least they were insufferable in a way that a high schooler would be, but the point still stands). On my first playthrough, I thought I saw some of the passion that went into it, but I don't know where I saw it. Audio issues were plentiful, lines get skipped for no reason, characters sound like they recorded their lines on varying quality of equipment. Backgrounds frequently take just a bit too long to load, leading to like a half second of a super low res background, causing a jarring transition between shots. Animations are stiff, devoid of emotion and character. The lgbt stuff was way underdeveloped and came off as preachy. Conversations would sometimes feel fake, for lack of a better word. Like someone would say something, and someone else would reply in a really unnatural way, or they would take just a bit too long to say their line. I expected there to be something about finding meaning at the end of the world, but by the time it even attempted to breach that subject the game was almost over. The ending felt rushed, singular btw. All paths lead to more or less the same outcome. I wanted to like this game, I really did, but it was flawed from inception.

I liked the music and the rhythm game parts though, if that counts for anything
