The Last Faith is a perfect combination of Souls-like (Bloodborne, especially) and Metroidvania, namely Castlevania SotN and Blasphemous. The gameplay is tight and feels responsive.

The art is some of the most beautiful art I've come across in many years, especially considering it's all pixel art. The soundtrack is also quite fitting and many songs feel like they could have been taken right off the Bloodborne OST.

The overall feeling of the game is very much akin to Blasphemous but with even more Souls-like qualities like stats that you level up for more health/damage/mana as well as weapon requirements based on these.

The difficulty seems just right, similar to Blasphemous 1, some enemies being tricky the first time you come across them but quickly mow through them the 2nd or 3rd encounter. Bosses are fun to learn and generally feel good to defeat, with some optional and secret bosses as highlights.

I can't recommend this game enough. If you are a fan of Bloodborne, Blasphemous, Castlevania, Souls-likes or Metroidvanias in-general you will enjoy this.

Cult of the Lamb is very fun. The rogue-lite dungeoning is very well executed, the controls feel responsive and the weapons are varied, each having very different feeling playstyles despite the lack of a large moveset. The village building/management of the cult outside of the dungeons is equally fun and has a completely different laid back pace from the action segments. The visuals and soundtrack as perfect and really set the mood for the game well. Its dark but doesn't take itself too seriously and is quite funny. Highly recommended for fans of rogue-likes, dark humor, stuff that's cute and creepy or just want something you can turn your mind off and do a couple of dungeon runs or work on bettering your cult community! 10/10

Great game, Love the series but unfortunately didn't have the chance to pick it up on the Wii U initially. Glad to see it getting a revival of sorts on the Switch and, of course PC. I purchased this game prior to launch and never thought about returning it. Any issues what were present at launch (lack of mouse aiming, the infamous frame rate tied to game speed bug, etc.) have basically been fixed up at this point.

If you are coming at this with the mindset of wanting to own a copy on PC after having enjoyed the series on various consoles for so long I think you will be pleased. The story is great, gameplay is just what you would expect from the FF/Zero series and the controls have never been an issue if you are using a controller as intended. I was able to complete the game in it's entirety on a 120Hz monitor at launch by limiting the max refresh rate via NVidia Control Panel, again this has since been patched and is no longer necessary.

The game runs smooth, gameplay is fun, and story engrossing. I highly recommend to horror fans, Japanese horror fans in particular, and of course Fatal Frame / Project Zero fans wanting to play on PC.

Would love to see at least the first 3 brought to Steam as well, if not the 4th too!

Such a great game. Awesome story, fantastic art and imagery, and the gameplay mechanics are not necessarily anything that was new at the time, but are very fun and fit the style perfectly, maybe not quite as amazing as the original American Mcgee's Alice, but a very wonderful sequel that nearly can live up to the original's standing.

Disclaimer beforehand, I've played this game for around 30 hours longer offline than it says on my profile (at time of this review totals about 46 hours)

This Game is amazing!

If you like stealth games, this is for you
Ninja? this game is for you
2d platformers? this game can also be for you

It's a masterfully crafted stealth game that is a great take on the genre. It's very similar to the ninja sim/3D action-stealth Tenchu series. If you have been waiting for a new installment to the tenchu series... then this is most definitely for you!

The game features a good variety of ninja based tools and tactics as well as outfits that can augment certain abilities or restrict them. Overall the difficulty of the game is good, it has a nice curve from the first level tutorial to the last level being a good challenge but not impossible. Also of note is the hardest difficulty which removes all visual aids from the gameplay making it a true challenge and feel more rewarding with every completion.

As far as gameplay itself, you play as a ninja as the title implies, you have a mission to complete in each level i.e. sneak into the compound. Sprinkled through out the main mission are side or optional objectives to complete such as turning off power from x number of locations, or terrorize so many guards into shooting their comrades. As you make your way through the levels you have many routes and options you can take choosing to terrorize or scare enemies, sneak past them unnoticed, or assassinate all in your path.

Hope this helped SOMEONE out there, it's a little all over the place but hopefully it gives some insight to this wonderful game. The art directon is quite nice, what you see in the store page screen shots is what you get pretty much. sound is also really well produced, not much to the story, it's really straightforward but the game really shines in the gameplay and not rely totally on storytelling.

So the Final statement or TL;DR if you like stealth games, ninja, or really well made 2d platform games... GET THIS!

10/10 makes the top 5 list of all time games IMO
