Looks, runs and feels "alright" (30-40 FPS on 1440p medium) on my R5-5600G / RX 6800 / 32GB machine. Anyone complaining about serious performance issues should probably update their ancient graphics drivers *properly* (i.e. using DDU in safe mode and doing a fresh driver install, NOT using AMD's/Nvidia's "update" ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥) and/or stop buying noVideo graphics cards.
The game itself is also pretty good and might become at least as addicting as the first game. Haven't gotten super far into it after 2 hours, but looks promising so far. :)

Awesome job, ID Software. This is the reboot everyone's been waiting for. Only reviewing the campaign for now, I'm not really interested in the multiplayer part of the game (yet?...).

Gameplay

Yes. This is a Doom game. Simple, fast-paced, brutal. Not a whole lot to say here, other than that it feels great. The violent battle scenes combined with quick parkour passages and occasional secret seeking make you feel like you're playing Mirror's Edge. But for men.

Story

Yeeeeah I guess there's some story, but who really cares? Again, this is Doom. Just jump around and shoot some demons.

Athmosphere
One word. Awesome. Definitely the "darkest" feeling Doom since Doom64. Great looking visual effects and immersive soundscape.

Pros:

+ Actually plays like a Doom game without feeling outdated.
+ Very pretty graphics and suprisingly good performace (getting 100-150 FPS on 1080p and max settings with a Core i7-4790K/RX480)
+ High movement speed
+ Challenging but satisfying, as long as the difficulty is set to Ultra-Violence (You will die a lot. Trust me.)
+ Dynamic combat system, you will have to switch weapons a lot in order to survive and always have enough ammo.
+ Nice, big maps with lots of rewarding secrets

Eh's:

+/- Can get a tiny bit tiring, especially once you get far into the game. The breaks the game grants you become shorter and fights become longer and tougher. However, you can pause, get yourself a beer and pizza and continue playing, so not a huge issue.

Cons:

- Since the newest patch, you can't play offline anymore.
- You can't quick-save or save at all, there's only automatic "checkpoints" which can be a little frustrating.

TL;DR: Overall an amazing, addicting and well polished FPS that feels and plays like Doom. Fast, dynamic and brutal. However, you can't quicksave or save at all which is a bit disappointing, but that's the only not-so-good thing about this. Oh yeah, did I mention it has one of the best game soundtracks ever (industrial/djent)?

One of the best multiplayer FPS games ever. Not Pay-to-win, amazing community, tons of features and gamemodes. Still lots of fun after years of playing.

Einfach nur ein geiler Shooter mit schöner Grafik, Liebe zum Detail, vielen tollen Waffen und relativ guter Synchro.

UND MAN KANN SOGAR RENNEN FAHREN *_* :D
