Great game, love the art style and feel of the game, reminds me a bit of Final fantasy legends. The combo combat style is really fun, doesn't pull any punches and pushes you to trim down combo timing for better effects and damages. I haven't gotten to far into the game yet but so far I am loving this and looking forward to more stuff from Goadstool.

Also, first review! Woot!

I really want to thumbs up this game but the fact is I have not had a single day of enjoyment playing this game since it released. The size of the world is cool, the Ships are cool and the indepth systems/data is great. But the fact is this game is totally unplayable and I just don't have faith that this game will be playable within the next 3 months, much less that they will be able to stick to the roadmap they put out.

Devs seem cool and engaged with the community, but they are doing some work harder not smarter ♥♥♥♥ that just takes away from development time and updating systems that are 100% broken. We have not had a single game breaking bug fixed in the first week of release, we are just expected to deal with it until they get to it. The Devs themselves admit the game is unplayable. I bought this game in EA to support them but I can not rationalize the sheer mind-rotting time just coping with the games bugs. I have seriously spent hours multiple nights in a row trying to fix a ship with Plate layering (The Trident T1). the build/repair tool is legit soul-crushing to make work.

If you do end up checking out the game, The Worker Ant is a beast for new players, just use it to grind out the Manatee with or without the mounted equipment.

Maybe I will come back and try it out at a later date again, but for now I'd need a therapist to keep playing this game.

Typical low quality game Bethesda is known for, except now Modders can't fix the company's mistakes.

If you have friends wanting you to play or you like Fallout lore it's a decent game, But Bethesda does not show any support to this game except a new Battlepass and 2-3 quests a couple times a year and new store items.

If you are on the fence about buying this game, check out Day Z, Green Hell, Rust, and Ark over this trash-can the village idiot keeps bringing to show.

At its current state in (Pre?) Alpha the game is just too broken and too incomplete. First off there is rampant duping and game breaking mechanics/bugs to ruin the game in all PvP sense. (Insert Alpha group/Chinese here) will max out their wieght in stone and get on boats just to sink them. There are countless reports of Accidental duping, some on a mass scale, so I find it hard that its not being replicated... Also I feel at it's core the game fails in the same way Fallout 76, Sea of Thieves, and Rust have. they completely depend on people to fill and create "content" themselves. Private servers are possible in the sense you run a solo "slice" of the map, therefore an incomplete experience. You have the option of increasing Player count but cannot increase mapsize without special server hosting or host through multiple servers (increasing the cost for those providing this service). Expansion server (Joining your server with other independantly owned servers) are in testing supposedly but that removes control of the server you pay from yourself. Finally the execution of the game. Launch was ♥♥♥♥ (Though I will give credit to Grapeshot for their good community wide communication) and what is currently in game is just not enough to keep a fan base. I will keep playing this game because I bought it with friends, and honestly that is the only reason you should get this game. If you like Ark this is a Fallout 76 meets Sea of Theives standalone DLC for Ark. I'm not saying this game can not be enjoyable, but at this time in development I just can't recommend you to buy this unless you have a reason. One day I hope to come back and change this review but that is up to the updates and changes that come.
