I know this game gets a lot of hate, but I personally love it. I've played all the Gears games.
I enjoy fine tuning my skills in games, and Gears 5 is great for that. The experience gain from customs is nice, so you can always progress even if the game inevitably becomes dead.
Playing this with some buddies is so damn fun. The customization with both your characters, markers, weapons, and banners is fantastic. There's a ♥♥♥♥ ton.
The ability to edit the game settings is a nice touch, although I do wish it was more fleshed out.
Horde is fun, as always.

If you approach this game as a longtime Gears fan, you might be disappointed. If you're willing to give it some love and accept it for what it isn't, I think you'll be better off.
