It's no Elden Ring. But if you want a fun RPG with entertaining combat and a fun to explore world.
This is pretty good.

The way this game is designed - is not conducive to having bad servers. I was almost fine with waiting for long load times as I was progressing.

But having to attempt to do a boss, die, then have to sit through two 5+ minute load screens just to re-attempt it - broke me. I can't even begin to learn the boss mechanics because of this fact. I may change my review when its fixed. But at this moment - this game wasn't ready and needed to find a way to have a good stress test BEFORE this release.

I would only recommend this game at full price if you enjoy the Mortal Kombat Franchise and fighting games in general.

The offering outside of the competitive gameplay is barebones. Invasion and Tower mode add nothing really interesting in terms of single player content vs what they've released in the past.

In terms of online modes - you still can't go into training mode while queued for matchmaking. Matchmaking is still barebones menu system. Netherrealm Studios could learn a lot from Arksys and Capcom in terms of Lobby systems and creating an environment where it's fun to play and keep playing against randoms online.

All in all, I'd give this game a 6/10 for people who ARENT fighting game fans. but a 8 or 9/10 if you are.

Never wrote a review before. But all I have to say is - This game has issues. Many issues. Technical mostly(for me) and some gameplay.

HOWEVER - This is probably my favorite game this year.

I love action rpgs like diablo/Path of Exile and I love Marvel characters.I have 300ish hours in Marvel Heroes. I miss that game. This game scratches both itches. If you don't like a repetitive game loop where you kill the same enemies in similar locations for a chance at an incremental power increase - this may not be the game for you.

But I love that stuff and if I get to be my favorite marvel hero while grinding - even better!

I say - wait a month or two to let them iron out some of the bugs then get the game. Or get it now because its easy to get gear and levels now and they may change it. Either way - I RECOMMEND this game.
