I'm gonna have to be brutally honest, here, and that honesty means changing my review from Positive to Negative.

I love this game. I hold many of the moments from the original very close to my heart, and so many great memories from it. I enjoyed my first playthrough, despite the flaws, and got 100% for the hell of it. But, I don't think even the rosiest of rose tinted nostalgia goggles could hide the parts of this remake that just feel so... so rushed, and unfinished, like there was so much more to be done.

I really want to keep my review positive, to say that the flaws and the bugs don't detract from the fun... but they really do. And while I can easily care less about the nostalgia, I can't easily care less about a game feeling like it got *worse* with the remake.

Yeah, there's small issues like some of the cutscenes using the original's audio and, thus, not really working with the new animations, but that's easy to ignore. Then, when there's finally something that doesn't seem quite right, it sticks out like a sore thumb and can't easily be overlooked.

I'll be real, THQ Nordic is hitting it outta the park since their return, but... this one needed a bit more work behind the scenes before it got shipped. I can only hope now that the other SB game they're working on doesn't fall through, and we can see what they can do without needing to meet the expectations of a remaster.
