Hi!

Over my last 40–50 CS2 matches, I've been playing really well—or at least much better than I used to. In most games I finished 1st, 2nd, or 3rd on the server. That would have been unimaginable for me before.

But one day, while sitting at my PC, a thought crossed my mind: "Okay... but does it actually matter?" After thinking about it, I came to the conclusion that it doesn't.

So today I sold my PC. The money will let me get a new pair of glasses (my eyesight got worse after spending so much time playing CS2) and finally pay for driving school. As a bonus, I'll even have enough left for a pack of blue Pall Mall Select cigarettes.

I got tired of the fact that no matter how focused and motivated I was, there would always be a few screaming Slavs, boosting service users (you gain 100 points for a win but lose 500 for a defeat), or sometimes even cheaters getting in the way of your efforts. Of course, there are also games where you're the one who makes mistakes.

The game does a great job of reflecting the challenges of real life—but I'd rather succeed in real life than in CS2.

I consider myself lucky that my last match (although I didn’t know it would be the last at the time) was played with a good childhood friend. Completely by chance, after a long time, he happened to be online, and we played one final game together. At the end, we had a good laugh and then wished each other good night.

Oh, and I also lost 30 kg (66 lbs) in just two and a half months because I stopped spending money on the fast food I used to eat while playing CS2 and started spending it on going to the gym instead.

I'd encourage you to seriously consider making similar decisions.
