The Good
Holy crap, where to begin? Maybe with the great tweaked SPECIAL system developed by Bethesda and then tweaked even further and better by Obsidian? Or maybe the awesome collection of little stories that link into and branch away from the amazing central story? How about the tons and tons of great characters populating this little corner of the US wastelands? Or the wonderful atmosphere? The good music? The absolutely amazing modding community?

Aw, what the heck. It's all pretty sweet.

The Bad
F:NV was a bit of a rushed product, and through Obsidian is responsible for a lot of the content, it's still based on an engine made by Bethesda. This means that, sadly, there are a lot of bugs and other problems both left in because there wasn't time to fix them and because there are inherent problems with the system itself.

Fortunately, the aforementioned modding community means that a lot of these things can be ameliorated or even eliminated. Unfortunately, they can't catch or deal with everything, so sometimes you'll still run up on some weird and wacky stuff that the creators never intended to happen.

Also, cazadores. Seriously, ♥♥♥♥ those damn things.

Overall
I've been a fan of Fallout ever since I bought the first and second on in a two-pack ages ago, so this game is like a huge, delicious feast for me. I thought I was perfectly happy with Fallout 3 until New Vegas came along and reminded me how great the series was in the hands of those who helped create it and just how great it could continue to be. But even if you aren't a Fallout fan, I'd still recommend it for it's amazing setting, story, and characters.
