Amazing response from devs regarding EOS, changing to a positive review (leaving original at the bottom).

Short version is that it was inactive in the first place (good news), and that all traces of it have since been patched out entirely (even better news).

Long version can be found in this thread.

That said, I should probably say something about the game itself:

Very interesting game, though can lack a bit in direction once you're done with contracts (which basically serve as a form of extended tutorial).

This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on the player.

Some will love the freedom, though others might end up feeling somewhat overwhelmed.

The contracts you get from people to remodel parts of their house do a fair job of introducing the player to the various aspects of the game, but once you start buying houses and doing your own remodels, it can feel like a bit much at first.

That's roughly the point I'm at in the game, so I can't speak much of how things are later on. I've done a couple of very basic remodels of some smaller houses, but nothing too fancy yet.

You have a lot of options in terms of what you can do. If you're feeling brave, you can basically tear down everything inside a house (including the walls) and rebuild and design however you want, the only limiting factor being the outside walls.

Overall, a rather interesting game, and I could easily recommend checking it out to anyone who likes building/simulation.

The price can be a bit much for someone who's only going to dabble a bit, but there's a lot of fun for someone who gets really into it. This is the kind of game that one can sink hundreds of hours into, when it clicks.

(original negative review)

Quietly added EOS years after launch.

Hey there!

I already responded to your topic on Steam Discussions, but I'll also attach the answer here:

Our engineers confirmed that the DLL file responsible for EOS that you're worried about is not active during playing House Flipper on Steam, it's just a leftover from preparing the game for different platforms.

If you need solid proof for this, you can use any network monitoring software (we just used GlassWire for that) which will show you all your network outputs. You'll see that the dll file responsible for EOS and any kind of network output linked to this file is not active while playing House Flipper on Steam.

As I mentioned, this file is just a leftover and we don't make use of it in the Steam version of the game. Since it looks like you as well as a decent part of the gaming community are concerned about this aspect, we will delete all the files related to EOS from the Steam version of House Flipper. This is probably going to happen tomorrow along with some hotfixes we prepared.

If there's anything else that needs explanation, I will happily discuss it.
Have a nice evening, and once again, thanks for bringing up this issue.
