If you've ever wanted to play a game with a nice atmosphere of realism and hint of oldschool rpg mechanics, this is it.
It is easy to get immersed in the game world and feel a real sense of progression as your character grows from a sword flailing illiterate bastard to a rough around the edges noble. Things feel a little bit more difficult to do than your traditional rpg, food and sleep are necessary or you'll basically be useless from the debuffs, and you'll sometimes hit encounters while fast traveling, but this makes every step you take feel grounded in the world and not just some tacked on mechanic trying to balance the gameplay or breakup the story.

I highly recommend this game to anyone looking for a touch of survival mechanics in an immersive rpg.

Pros:
-Interesting setting/story
-Interesting and varied skillsets
-Unique and varied enemies and bosses

Cons:
-Memorisation learning curve
-The art style makes it difficult to keep the cards and items unique. (Oh, this ability card has blue jagged spikes and this one has slightly different shaped blue jagged spikes).
-It is difficult to understand what abilities work well together without trying them all out, and not being able to discern the difference in cards makes this more difficult to determine which ones you've actually used.

Verdict:
While this game feels like it has a lot of heart and content, the content feels confusing and difficult to keep track of. I enjoy rogue-lite games because I enjoy the process of discovering new abilities, weapons, and items that combo well together, but all of the items and abilities are difficult to clearly discern from one another upon seeing. (Does this jagged red blob card shoot a beam, does it teleport me with a fire effect, have i even used this before?) It takes the fun out of the process when it requires a great deal of attention to detail to remember the exact shape of the colored blob on a card to keep track of what it actually does and if that will benefit your build or make it useless. It may be that this gets easier as you play, but I felt myself not wanting to play more and more as new abilities and cards were introduced despite having not even a hint at what 90% of the abilities and items before did.

A fun, ambient game where you grow from a tiny astroid to a black hole that consumes the universe. Very Fun
