winnie the pooh is a bear's epic quest for honey, eeyore's tail and christopher robin's life, threatened by the evil backson. well, it might be a bit less dramatic, but a lot of fun nonetheless. it looks like a disney movie, surprising nobody, and plays like a regular point & click adventure, leaning a bit heavier on the hidden object side.

in every scene of the 20-page story there are items to interact with and some will unlock optional mini-games and honey pots. mini-games come in two varieties, simon says and popping numbered balloons in the correct order, and both these and solving the current conundrum on the page grants the player more honey, used to unlock printable images in the main menu. you'll need 60 pots altogether but there are more to be found.

not only does the game look good, the voice acting is excellent as well. pooh is voiced by the one and only jim cummings, of course, and there's a narrator too, but unfortunately the rest of the characters are silent. it's understandable, disney is a small indie company strapped for cash all the time.

various resolutions are available, 1366x768 is the highest, separate volume settings are also present, and besides the printable stuff, there's a read to me option as well. if you can't be bothered to play the game, watch it as a non-interactive animated storybook. subtitles are shown in either case and they work karaoke style, highlighting words as they're being uttered.

it's aimed at kids and has some educational value, but as a pooh fan I enjoyed my time with it as well, so it's worth playing whichever category you fall into. took 1 hour, might be more for the target audience, and maybe one day more pooh titles will show up on steam, including winnie the pooh and the honey tree, another animated storybook.

Ez igazán aranyos játéknak tűnik! :) Kell is az ilyen, manapság pedig különösen...
