The game is good, but, maybe, wait for the second act release before you buy it. At the moment there is only one map with 3 bosses. Mechanics are fun, but it gets old somewhat quickly. Of course the game is still in the middle of development and not abandoned, so I believe it will become great one day. But now content is limited.

It is a great example of "simple to learn, hard to master". And of "the less is more". There is simply just the core of all autoshooters survival games, but this game really does not need anything else. Small arena with clear visuals and skill based gameplay with enough different characters to keep it going for a long time. There is no meta progression that can make the game much easier, the only thing you can unlock is more characters and more items, but the core items are already there. And there is no meta stats increase or anything. If you are good enough - you can take one of the first characters and go through all 6 difficulties and it will be pretty much as easy/hard as it ever will be.
And to top it all, runs are relatively short. I did not really measure them, but I think about 20 minutes to beat the run is about it.
But if you expect any story or complicated world lore or want to grind to become more powerful - skip this game. Because none of those are here.

It is a nice roguelite game with unusual twist. It is not perfect, and there are some conflicting mechanics and not so polished parts. Yet, Rogue Spirit has its charm and it is different from any other roguelites I played enough to make it interesting. On technical side: combat is fluid and challenging, and game mechanics push the player to try new ways of playing. But the variance could be better - variance of enemies, variance of possible builds and variance of environment.

Overall it is a good game to get you busy for some evenings, but don't expect the hours of the Dead Cells or Hades. Not a bad thing, not every game should last for hundreds of hours. But if you want something that will keep you occupied for months - you should look elsewhere.

The idea is interesting, but the game is too repetetive without enough variance. Basically there are several group of characters and after you choose which group you gather this time you have a single way to make a build. Not because other ways would not work, but because there are no other ways. You are always scale damage with everything possible. Options are: artifacts, which gives flat increase, or other characters that either add flat increase or multiply the attacks. There are some exceptions, and some groups don't have one or another. Also each group has their own set of 1 to 4 artifacts and 0 to 4 (might be even less) characters you can use for damage scale.
Fights are always the same too. The difference between common fights and boss fights are so big, that you don't really care about common fights. Same difference between bosses and last boss who is about ten times stronger than the rest. Unless you have an idea what you are going for you have no way to foolproof your build until that fight. And literally no way to influence the fight if you do get there and did not have enough damage.
And there are nothing else other than keep a group, gather specific artifacts and characters with tweaked in your favor random and click enough time to get through 10 levels. There are no combos other than more damage if these two characters are nearby. There is no status effects, no conditions other than having specific characters near. There is healing, but currently it might as well not exist. Good build, read focused on one group of characters, will kill everything, last boss included with alpha strike. Bad build has no chances at all.
It could be saved with NSFW content, but you can see all the game has to offer on its store page. Only thing you get in addition to that is something they call "breathing animation" and it is just animated idle pose for the character. Well, at least not in the first 10 difficulties. And there is no hint that something else could be unlocked too.
Add to this that the translation to English is incomplete and the story is non existent and you get a picture of what this game is.
I should add - it is not exactly bad, just shallow. It could be improved with more combos, or more NSFW art, or with more modes of playing, or with more events to encounter, there are countless options and most of them are available by the technical side. But maybe wait for more updates to see if anything will be actually added.

Amazing roguelite. Tons of stuff to unlock, with more after you beat the game for the first time. Countless possible builds with enough tools to get what you need or close to. But even with unlocking everything or near everything - the game is still hard enough to give some challenge even for hardcore players.

Wow, somehow they manage to make it actually worse than the first game. The first Ship Graveyard Simulator was not an ideal game, but it was fun to scrap stuff from ship carcasses. Here? Not so much. Sure, you can actually destroy hulls now, the graphics is a bit prettier and you get ability to jump around. That is all that good here. In the first game, when you hit things you supposed to hit - they were deforming, when you cut things you were allowed to cut - you see animation of cutting and then the cut itself. And if you cut it in a wrong place you will get leftovers you will have to cut again if you want more materials. In this game? You hit point and it simply change color to black. You cut something - you see animation of tool working and then, guess what, part lose color. Not cuts, no deformation, just change of color. And there is literally no connection between the tool and the materials. You see animation of tool in the air and the part you were destroying lose color. Then, when you decolor all the connection you "bonk" the part with your hammer (actual in-game name of the action) and it becomes disconnected. You are free to press the button and pack whatever that was into small box in your hands and to throw it to your track. And as long as you point in the right direction - it does not matter how far away your truck is. It does make cleaning the place much faster, but with how small immersion is there already it just make the feeling of the game even worse.
But while immersion is the main thing in the simulators, there are more downgrades from the first game. Another big thing that was watered down is progression. Previously there were experience you get from using tools, fulfilling contracts and making money. When you leveled up you get skill points you were able to use in simple and straightforward skill tree, separate for each tool. And available ships were unlocked based on your level - there was a goal to work towards. Now? No experience, no unlocks. As long as you have enough money you can order any ship. But there are even more. In the first game there was a progression for facilities. And when you get a new level you unlock more options and the facility get a visual upgrade. Not anymore, everything is at the max level already as far as I can tell. You can still upgrade tools and now there are one or two more levels of them, though. Oh, and in the first game there were a progress bar for ship demolition. It was satisfying to hit 100% knowing that you actually did everything. And you get a nice change of background color from red to green in the ship booking system when you get at least 90% of the ship disassembled. Not anymore. And, unless it will unlock at some arbitrary point in the future, the hiring workers system is gone too. As well as making advanced materials on your own. Now all you need to upgrade your tools you can only get from the ship. Only tools upgrades can be crafted. And it looks like you don't even need to upgrade tools to destroy advanced points, you can do it with anything. meaning that another progression system was scrapped.
And on top of that I get 2 crushes to desktop in less than one hour here. In the first game I did not get a single one in several hours.
Someone in upvoted revies for this game compared it to Hardspace: shipbreaker. The only similarity is that you can completely disassemble something called "ship". Every other part of this game is objectively less developed. There is no story, no characters, no material deformation, no goal, no challenge. The only thing in the SGS2 that required at least some thinking is how to get "heavy equipement" out before you can destroy its supports.
I would advice to stay away from this title unless some significant game mechanics will be added.

Fun little game. A bit overpriced for the amount of content. Just beware: this is not a deckbuilder game. Essentially it is a puzzle game over card battling mechanic. There are 5 characters with 4 deck each and those decks are always the same. You cannot change that in any way. Your goal is to figure out how to use that set deck to win over 3 bosses with much more health than you but very simplistic AI strategy. I believe that AI never even react to your actions, only follow some small set of rules on what to use.
And as a card battling puzzle game it does a decent job. I get a few hours of fun trying to figure out how the hell some decks expected to win anything.

One of the best games of its genre. It still need some tweaks and I suspect that some important info were lost in translation, like what some weapon variants actually do and such. But over all this game is an example how it should be done:
- every weapon and every character is different enough to make sense to have them separately. There is no recolored fireballs or character clones.
- upgrades are meaningful. You have 4 weapons with 6 accessories slots and 3 buffs slots each and depending on buffs you choose you get vastly different final weapon form. All parts of it can be game changing, a single accessory might change gameplay style. Or you can opt for pushing numbers up instead and if you do it right it will work too.
- Every map is different. In everything: different enemies with different abilities, different layout, different style, different map features - for example while most of the maps are infinite in every direction, one of them is actually quite small and has its opposite edges connected. And if you have weapon that shoot far enough and pierce enemies - you can shoot it to one side and get it come back to you from the other. And couple of weapons actually benefit from this greatly, you can actually make a build around that.
- All bosses have different mechanics. For one you have to either outdamage its healing or clear the map from mobs to prevent that healing to be. And yes, it is possible, no matter what some other reviewers said. I actually did that on nightmare with more than one build. You have to find a way though, not every build will work. Not sure why anyone would want EVERY build to work against everything though.
- Nightmare map difficulty is not just about more health and damage. Every map get new mechanics and different enemies composition. And last boss always get some new tricks too.
- and if you decide that you want something even more different to fresh your experience - you can always go for a drink and get some mutators for the next run. Ranging from simple stats adjustment to completely different experience. Like, for example, becoming stationary but with greatly increased fire power.

After several patches I feel that I need to change my review. Previously this was "fun but nothing special" game. Now it is a strong pretender for the best in genre. Developers are very active and constantly add something fun to the game, being more content or UI improvements. Some additional maps and a few more bosses would be great to have, but the game is still in Early Access and considering how much good changes already happened - it is quite possible to get improvements there too.
What is there, anyway?
* Good amount of characters, with each having their own ascension skill, impactful enough to make a difference. Each character also has whole big passive skill tree with several unlocks that will work for everyone.
* Enemies on different maps actually become different not just in skin, but also in abilities. They have different patterns of attack and different toughness. And some more were just added a few days ago.
* Thanks to recent changes in how runes work build varieties are over the top now. It was good before, and it just become even better. Technically speaking you could make sameish build for pretty much every character now, but it will perform worse than build catered for specific character strengths.
* Most abilities and elemental statuses get their own quirks now. In the past the game suffer a bit from feeling that various elements and their abilities have a feeling of being simply recolored. Not anymore.
* The soundtrack is still amazing and get another track or two just recently. I admit that with amount of grind it does start to feel too limited.

But beware: the grind is real in this game. If you want to complete all characters skill trees - you are looking at hundreds of hours of gameplay. Not that you NEED to do that, you can finish max curse on any map with only a fraction of passive skills unlocked for any character. And having more maps and bosses could make grind a bit less repetitive. Still, grind is fun because you are not simply spending hours of play to get yet another +5% of damage for that specific character. Each character has 3 new runes in their skill tree that you can use on any other character to get even bigger builds variety. And some passive skills also applies to everyone, not just character you unlock them for. That makes grind rewards actually exciting.

But the long grind is the long grind. If that is not for you - maybe look for another game there. And that is alright.

Yet another Something Something Mechanic Simulator YYYY. Content is limited, some mechanics are here only for marketing team to be able to claim "we have it!", many QoLs are missing. If you like bikes and want some relaxing meditative experience - you will be able to get couple of evenings out of this game. Just don't expect much.
