I'll start by saying I don't think the game was ready for release at this time. It's still a bit buggy. It was ready to go into Beta, but it's still fun if you like working out, sometimes, small details. This game can be so frustrating when the creation you've been working on for hours just won't work right. But it's oh so satisfying when you finally figure it out, and it does exactly what you planned. Planning has a bit more to do with the game now that the new mission system is in place. Things happen that didn't before. At least not before I came back to it after 1.0 launch. Case in point:

I received a mission that a boat was needing help. The weather was crazy as I was trying to find it, at night in huge waves. Things finally calm down as the sun comes up, and I found it. Hooked up the rope and got to towing. My boat was not designed to tow, so it was slow going (full throttle, doing 9 knots).

I got word that there was another boat in distress, and the map showed the area was close, so I noted it for later. I was passing close to my starter base, so I detached, and ran back to refill the fuel. On the way, I see the other boat in distress and it's on fire. Zip into the base, and fill up my boat. I figured I'd head over there to put the fire out and grab the people (hospital island is on the way back to the first boat I was towing). I'm fighting the fire below deck, and I hear a boom.

Guess my boat pushed up against this one, so the fire spread and caused an explosion. My boat's going down. I keep an underwater torch, and diving suit on the outside for just such an occasion. I grab the torch and don my diving suit to start repairing my boat. The torch runs out of gas, and I didn't have enough money for more than one at the time. So now my boat is at the bottom of the ocean. I haven't decided if I'm going to use the auto save that kicked in 6 minutes prior to this charlie foxtrot or swim back to base and see if I can build a small recovery boat.


TLDR: Was helping a boat on fire. My boat caught on fire and sunk.

10/10 Will sink again.
