Can't play ever again, don't buy - no fixes work, at least not for steam version

My question is how can a game that obviously no longer runs still be for sale? I'm sure there is a lemon law or something somewhere

Game used to run fine...

Now BioShock is a game of just trying to get the settings to save (they dont), change the screen size (it crashes), figure out how to get audio back (insert mic or set winxp2 compat mode), trying to use the mouse in the menus (thing doesnt register small movements OMG WHY) and just generally hope it doesn't randomly crash (it does!!)

Game over man, game over!!!

Overall, the game is great - but be prepared to play a game to get the game to run!!

(and switching to controller takes away half the freaking settings options!!!!!!)
