Everett, if you want to play 1.8 on minecraft Notch updated it! just go to this website : http://www.minecraftforum.net/topic/611324-regarding-18-pre-release-version-2-released/ and download the minecraft.jar file and replace your old minecraft.jar with it, and vuala! i have to tell u though, enderman is the hardest thing in the game to defeat, they do 4 hearts of damage and they are freaky! Just warning you, anyway download the .jar and replace your old one with it!
