I know most people love this game but for me personally it simply falls short of many of the other survivor clones. It is literally just walking... in a direction. I miss a dash, I miss aiming more things, and I am going to say it... I really don't like dwarfs. Deal with it.

I like using the terrain to create openings to funnel enemies, but all in all it doesn't feel active enough for me. We should have had to click to mine at least. Lazy game for lazy people! ;)

Cute and creative. As others have said it will remind you of raiding in Final Fantasy XIV with a few roguelike touches. Haven't had the chance to try with others, but even alone, it's fun. Music is nice too.

Try the demo and support the amazing dev if you like it! Hoping for some more meta progression or talent trees in future updates. Keep up the good work and thank you for the keys for my show.

Slow burn with a bit of a grind, but worth the low price. I like the end level boss battles a lot, and the vendor system has a really cute and unique implementation. Appreciate the little risk vs. reward choices and proper ultra wide support as well.

Overall a decent survivors clone!

This went free to play today so I decided to try it because I really miss Paragon sometimes. As others have mentioned in their reviews - yes, I’m sure DOTA and LOL are the better MOBAs… but personally, I love the third person view and action style combat - so if you’re like me, until Smite 2 drops, this is your best bet.

It does need some polish and balance still, and I’m not a fan of so many locked heroes, but for the people leaving bad reviews because ‘the community is toxic’ - what the hell are you expecting? Real amateur hour stuff right there.

I recommend this game if you aren’t a crybaby or poor. It’s fun.

Made by two brothers who love PoE - it's a hybrid of an ARPG/Survivors game. Tons of speed, mobs, and action - these guys get it! Plus it has lots of points to put in various places, I LOVE POINTS (stats, massive talent tree, a weapons leveling system, and some light crafting). It's janky but in a charming 90s way, and still very fun.

If you're looking for something on the Steam Spring sale for a few bucks, I recommend this.

The demo was fun so I wanted to support the release. Backback Battles is a deceptively deep autobattler where you are limited by simply your own creativity, some RNG, and how much you can cram into your ever expanding backpack. I like trying to create various builds for each class by discovering the recipes to craft secret items, combinations, and innumerable ways to play. This game is proof you need only a simple concept with good execution to create a unique and enjoyable game. More about it on next weeks show!

Potential, but not quite there yet. I love the idea of a more story driven, RPG inspired survivalcraft, and they have most certainly nailed the art direction, music, voice acting, and character/story/world building. However, the technical aspects leave a lot to be desired. The UI, combat, build tools, and other quality of life features such as how storage is handled need more attention! I am confident with player feedback the devs will listen and make Nightingale the wonderful game it can be. P.S. Let me make a character who isn't ugly, all of those sliders and my character still looks like an abomination.

While my heart still belongs to PoE, I am enjoying Last Epoch so far. There is a unique dichotomy of feeling new and innovative while keeping with the old school spirit of the classic ARPGs so many of us still yearn for.

To disclose, I received this copy free for my podcast, but at this price I would have grabbed it anyway. Even if you don’t go super deep into the end game, or return each cycle, there are still many hours of entertainment in a complete game that isn’t trying to milk you like a cow in a secret level… (Hint: like Diablo 4. I meant Diablo 4).

Flawed but fun. It's like Space Invaders reimagined as a Tower Defense RPG. If you are curious, try the demo version which is called "Arachne’s Trial" (the progress carries over) it is beefy enough to know if you want to buy this full version or not :)
