Doesn’t matter how nice the game is; if it can’t be played on demand, GG.

The gameplay can be polished, the visuals can be gorgeous, the soundtrack can be perfect, and the UI can feel smooth. None of that matters the moment the game isn’t available when I choose to play. A game is entertainment, not an appointment. If I sit down to unwind and the servers are down, the “experience” becomes a loading screen and an error message. That overrides every positive thing the game does well.

What makes it worse is timing. Going down on a public holiday, when more people are free and specifically trying to play, is the worst possible moment to fail. That’s not “unexpected demand”; that’s predictable demand. If the game requires online connectivity for basic access, then stability and capacity planning are part of the product, not a bonus feature.

I paid for a game, not a maybe. If the service layer is the gatekeeper, then uptime is the minimum standard. Right now the biggest obstacle isn’t difficulty, balance, or content; it’s simply being able to launch and play. Fix the reliability, prioritise uptime, and stop turning peak gaming hours into downtime.
