I'm pretty happy with what's described as an intentionally mid-tier game. The gameplay is mildly repetetive, but interesting enough to keep you playing and constantly looking at your surroundings. Which is beautiful, and even though you're basically fenced in it never feels like you're being railroaded.
The showcase, of course, is the story, which keeps you invested and always pushing forward along with Senua. Told partly in narrative as memories or experiences, you get a sense of how she really feels as a character and why she's so set on achieving her goal.
All in all, I highly suggest it to anyone looking for an interesting 3rd person adventure game with a personal, deep, and engaging story.
Though, it is true that if you're sensetive to rough personal situations, maybe you might steer clear. It all but states in the opening splash that she is suffering dementia and all her signs and portents are illusion in her own perpective.

I would have figured with the popularity of FTL more people would be onto this. Though Weird Worlds predates FTL by quite a bit, both games seem to scratch the same itch; scaleable, randomized play sessions, ship cargo and weapon management, choosing the best route through the map, offbeat sci-fi humor. There is a slight learning curve; equipment is fairly random throughout your route, and combat is pretty rough until you find some allies. This is definitely one of those games you play five times in a row just too see what else is out there and how far you can go!
Also, don't let my short playtime on Steam fool you. I had dumped at least 20 hours into another copy of this before repurchasing it here!
