Great music, but got stuck looking for a switch to call the elevator in stage 2.. so I stopped playing.

I would've given this game a thumbs up but they had a Godzilla DLC that was limited time (it was free, but I have 2,000+ games in my Steam Library, I don't notice when one DLC comes out for one game that is limited time), so thanks developers for creating a really dumb practice and sticking to it, considering you are now charging money for another limited time DLC that is way overpriced and should be like $3 at most.

I used to respect these devs for what they did but they are really killing the good will from their customers and community fast. It's like a fast track to douchesville Coffee Stain Studios used to have really great goodwill with their community too for Deep Rock Galactic, they've essentially killed it over the years with all the overpriced merch and side games that suck and all kinds of similar practices.

Yea, I can see why this is being sold for $2 now.

the sound effects feel cheap, the UI and font feels very cheap. The art looks great, so are the animated cutscenes, those look wonderful.. it just sucks that it feels like half of the game had no effort put into it. The music sucks too.

Early Access Review
Great game, definitely needs WAY more levels and content because we got to round 13 or 14 after playing on my first day for like 8 hours straight, but the game feels endless and like there is no endgame achievement to collect or work for, you just go until you get super strong from buffs.

I do not like the overcharge mechanic they are going to add to the game, I think it would work if you have overcharge when you get over a certain level of strength, like 8 or 10, but having it from the start seems lame.

I also think they should keep the glitch that allows us to heal between rounds when in the shop, not getting full health between each level seems like a massive oversight because if you die and respawn, you start with 1 hp. There is no great way to get health and also upgrade your characters, since health is so expensive. I would suggest either keeping the glitch in so people can heal, or just allowing everyone to get full hp between rounds, or allow us to buy some sort of truck upgrade that lets you heal when you go back to the truck once per level.

A server browser/matchmaking is coming, for now you have to use a Discord to find people to play with. I will continue to update my review as the game progresses. Right now I think it is worth the $10, had a lot of fun, luckily they are fixing the aiming and melee mechanics because right now they suck.

I also like that the game doesn't have a time limit per level like Lethal Company does, I really hate time limits and that is one of the reasons I don't like playing Lethal Company as much, it just feels like you are under a constant timer, so in REPO you have as much time as you need, but the monsters spawn and despawn, so it feels like there is a constant threat throughout the level. I would like there to be a way to kill all the monsters in the level though, and then have them respawn when you get to the final extraction point.

I think this game can be improved quite a lot, but making things harder like with an overcharge mechanic doesn't float my boat. If you are going to force an overcharge thing on us, allow us to heal to max between levels somehow, for FREE.

I like that the game has accessibility options and allows you to make it look crystal clear (unlike Murky Divers which wants to make the game look ugly and force that on you), so REPO can look fantastic. The only thing it needs is an FOV slider, please please please.

And give me achievements that are fun but not super hard, if they take like 100 hours to complete, sure fine, but if they take like 1,000 hours to complete, or are like 'play a game with the dev', then f right off.

I am excited for this, never thought we would get the Bachelor, but I worry the gameplay might be TOO different. The analysis and diagnosis gameplay is very cool and original, but I am not much of a reader and I was getting bored by the demo very fast, until I got to the diagnosis part.. then I fell asleep cuz I was so tired.

I really despise the quick zooming in to peoples faces, I find that extremely obnoxious and disorienting. I don't like the feeling that at any moment I might get a quick jump scare by having someone try and talk to me.

Oh, I think the character faces look worse in this game than they did in 2.. How did the graphics get ever so slightly worse? Maybe they are on par, I have the graphics at Medium/High, since the devs are well known for being horrible at optimization of their own game.

Also at the start the monster jumping around and their animations felt very unnature and ugly to look at.

"- the game overall plays like a straightforward mainstream video game, rather than a Pathologic game"
I agree with that, I don't like the new direction this game is taking. I was expecting/hoping for Pathologic 2, but with a new character and gameplay perspective with exploration and looting and some survival mechanics, didn't have to be as hardcore as Path 2 but SOME would be nice. It feels like they are trying to invent an entirely new game with a Pathologic 2 coat of paint, but the character models feel lifeless compared to how alive they looked for me in Path 2.

I also don't like the Bachelor's voice acting either, I was expecting top level after playing Pathologic 2 and having that enigmatic character of the Bachelor, but yeah.
The walls of text bore me as well, I don't like being forced to read a ton of exposition, when I just want good gameplay. I am one of those players who doesn't pay much attention to story heavy games, unless it is gripping or interesting to me. Most of Pathologic 2 I didn't pay too much attention to the huge walls of text since it didn't seem to matter much what your responses were anyway (until you got to the important choices, and even then it was like 'Is dialogue doing anything in this game?)

As I play more I'll write more.

Cool, I do hope I get more DLC packs than just one $5 DLC bundle though after purchasing that physical special edition.

I would also like an FOV slider and better optimization for my 3070 Ti, and the Astartes Retributors and Crimson Fists added.

Wait, nvm not cool. If you are making me spend money then don't make me grind to unlock things too, I don't have the time, I am nearly 40 now. Time is a luxury for me.

Stop making bad decisions for your game and maybe it won't die out.

DO NOT INSTALL THIS!
My game ran fine (not fine, low fps but it worked and I had no crashes) until I installed this texture pack. I should have read all of the reviews before touching it.
This has bricked my game, I uninstalled it and even removed it from my Steam account through Account Details, but nothing has fixed my game again. Every time I launch the game since downloading this texture pack it just crashes. Uninstalling and reinstalling the game, using DDU to uninstall and reinstall graphics drivers, trying all of the crash fixes for MH Wilds does not work.

This DLC will brick your game, it will refuse to launch after installing this no matter what you try. My game ran fine and I never had a crash, but now I cannot play the game at all.

Thanks Capcom! I have a 5800X3D, 16gb's of RAM, 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra GPU at 1440p
I have tried to read the crash reports generated every time I launch and get a crash but they don't make sense to me, and Capcom is too lazy to have the crash reports auto send to them, they expect us to upload and send every single one to their servers somehow.

Edit: I figured out what the problem was, I changed the DLSS files in the game directory to more updated ones since I was using Nvidia Inspector to get a newer version of DLSS (just use DLSS Swapper instead, its easier and more convenient), but when I installed this DLC pack for some reason the game became incompatible with those files and would not launch.

Now I uninstalled the game and verified game files, but for some reason the DLSS files did not get replaced by the default game version that comes with it. When I finally deleted those files and replaced the original ones I had copies of, the game finally launched. I have no idea why this is the case but if you have issues make sure to delete EVERYTHING in your game directory folder once you uninstall the game before reinstalling it.

Edit:
New Nvidia Drivers installed as of February 28th, 2025 now get me 70-80 fps on the main title screen. I have been updating my review as I figure things out. So far no crashes for me, thank god.
Double Edit: I installed the high resolution texture pack and got my first launch crash, and come on Crapcom, how can you not auto send crash reports to your servers, you want US to send them to you? Its not going to happen, we are too lazy and if you want to prove to us you can fix your own multi million dollar game, auto-send the crash reports.
Yeah, now that I installed the texture pack DLC the game just crashes upon launch, good job Capcom!

DO NOT install the high resolution texture pack, it will brick your game. I cannot get the game launching now since installing and uninstalling it, even uninstalling the DLC and verifying game files the game just crashes on launch now. Not sure how to fix it.
Edit: I figured out replacing some DLSS files with newer ones was causing the crashing, it only became a problem once I installed the high resolution texture pack, and even when I uninstalled it, the game wouldn't load. Once I replaced the newer DLSS files with the original older ones that shipped with MH Wilds, the game started loading again. Even reinstalling the game wouldn't fix it since it doesn't reinstall the DLSS files if they are still in the folder. This took me an entire day to figure out, all because Capcom has a very buggy and broken texture pack DLC.

Btw, if you change the mispelled resotluion spelling in the config file and you fix it, if you dont set your config file to read only, it will revert back to its mispelling. So that is funny..

The games framerate is still all over the place, I had to turn down several settings to go from 20fps in the intro chase sequence up to 55-60fps at 1440p with a 3070 Ti.

Also no light bar or built-in speaker support for the Dualsense controller wired on PC?
So far there is HD Rumble but not feeling Adaptive Triggers for anything, which is always disappointing. Capcom really dropped the ball with dualsense features for RE4 remake on PC, I heard it was amazing on console, but they never patched it into RE4, which killed my enjoyment

Even though I can now "Run" the game, they need to patch it and get this game optimized ASAP, it still runs so bad on PC. It is playable but in a very rough state. Worlds was the same at launch and that game runs amazing now, so I hope Capcom works on this game ASAP.

There are many things you can do to get it looking better (but not running better), use DLSS Swapper to update DLSS from 3.7 to 3.10, AA will look so much better. You can update DirectStorage on PC to the latest version since Capcom launches with old versions. You can also download a low settings config file off nexus mods, and you can use Nvidia Inspector to force latest DLSS versions for all games as well. I have spent most of the day trying tweaks and configs, and so far I have not experienced any crashing, and the latest DLSS makes the Anti aliasing and game look so much clearer.

But the highest framerate I can get in the village or open world is still only about 45-60fps at 1440p. The game just needs to be better optimized by Capcom since nothing I can do makes it run any better at Medium/high settings.

February 24th, 2025:
Oh this is bad... $93 spent on a game that won't even run.

You launched your most anticipated game in the worst state possible Crapcom. I should have known you didn't care about your PC users, you always prove it when you release your RE games and then don't go back and patch or fix them (RE7 still has no FOV options in 2025).

It took about 15-20 minutes for the initial shader compilation but then at the Title Screen I got 5 fps. FIVE FRAMES PER SECOND! DLSS was already on, no matter what I do the game won't go above 5 frames per second.

I have a 5800X3D CPU, 16GB's of DDR4 4000mhz RAM, a 3070 Ti FTW3 Ultra from EVGA (RIP), and the game is a total sh**show. Do not buy it right now unless you want to roll the dice.

I would refund this but I bought it off of Humble Bundle for 20% off, and it still cost $93 after tax for the 'Premium Deluxe Give us your money you b***' Version because I am an id**ot and have been waiting so many years for the next big MH game. I remember MH Worlds running like garbage on launch too, but it was never THIS bad. I cannot refund the game since I bought it off of Humble Bundle, ugh. How disappointing. This means that we still have to wait a month or two for Crapcom to patch the game to make it playable because this doesn't seem like a quick fix.

Remember that they have Denuvo running too because they care more about their bottom line than having a functional game. Denuvo is most certainly helping kill the game because nothing has proven that spending a stupid amount of money on Denuvo will save them money, since it gets cracked right away whether Denuvo is in a game or not, but we HAVE proven that Denuvo will kill your framerate. When its removed games tend to run so much better. Send Capcom a message and don't make the same mistake I did by falling for the BS Pre-order bonuses and do not spend your money yet.

Wait for them to fix it and show the PC crowd they care more than 2 ducks and a quack.

No more content updates is frustrating, also the biggest problem is no server browser. You either join a game in 2 seconds or you are stuck hosting the game. They really needed to flesh out the matchmaking more.

Also needed an FOV slider, though by default it is quite high which is good. So not a huge problem there.

Needs more maps to explore, many other improvements could be made if they bothered.

And you either find a game with 1-2 others, or you get a host who just kicks you and then you are stuck hosting and waiting..
