Bully is a fun play through, but I would really only purchase it while it's on sale. The amount of trouble you will have to go through just to get the game to run is not worth it.

At first I was only able to play the game for maybe an hour or less without it crashing. I was going to refund Bully, but I did some looking around and downloaded a "silent patch" which helps make the game run for much longer. Definitely look into that if you plan on purchasing. This game has taught me to save frequently. When playing, I always save before putting Jimmy to sleep. That seems to be the best tactic.

Now this is a really old game, so I'm not going to bash any of the graphics or sounds too hard. It's more or less what you would expect from an early 2000's game. There's some pop in of models and the game doesn't look stunning. The audio is very low quality. Some dialogue in Bully will most definitely hurt your ears, such as some of the carnival scenes with Mandy. That audio will forever haunt me. A lot of the sounds in the game are very repetitive, with the scooter being one of the worst in my opinion. Swimming is also up there, but fortunately you don't have to swim much.

The combat is... alright I suppose. The longer you play, the more combos and move sets you unlock. Though there are certain characters that you will fight in the open world that will be just about impossible to beat. I'm talking about you Bif! Stop blocking and let me hit you! Seriously, you can beat up just about any other student in the game (why would you even think of fighting Russel), and then when you meet Bif he's a freaking brick wall.

Currently I'm finished with the main story and just running around the map collecting the G&G cards, rubber bands, and smashing the gnomes. If you're going to play Bully and be a collector, make sure you don't neglect your schooling! It seriously helps.

Some miscellaneous stuff I have problems with are a few of the classes and the map. In my honest opinion, the math class has garbage design and the mouse input in the shop class is horrendous. You'll understand when you play the game yourself. When you hit TAB you're shown a full view of the map, and then you have to press ALT to zoom in on the map. Constantly doing that when searching for collectibles is really annoying.

As I'm writing this review, one of the major reasons I'm not recommending purchasing Bully is because I've just done all 5 of the grand prix races at carnival and upon exiting the carnival to go and save my game it crashed on me. It just goes to show how much progress you can lose at random, so beware!

In all seriousness though, if you want a unique story driven, open world game, give Bully a try. Please do not pay full price for this though. I'm actually begging you at this point.
