steep skillcurve, but worth a try

played straight 40hrs after release and took a 2 months break. i was hiding in a little cabin and was being chased by a monster, also one soldier was roaming around, right before Duga questline.

during that gameplay from release I suffered from several bugs that broke my immersion. Here are some:
- long distance traveling
- insane amount of inventory management
- boring empty spaces
- game breaking bugs like zelesnya questline
- alife2.0 bugs (being surrounded by infinite monster spawns)
- alot of crashes

So I came back to 1.2.1 (now 1.3) and thought it would be more balanced, was and am playing with a tons of mods. Well, what shall I say? I am kinda stuck again: There is a monster chasing me, I am hiding in a little cabin with a car. As soon the monster enters, I am jumping on that car so the monster cant reach me. This monster then leaves the cabin, waiting RIGHT BEHIND THE WALL OUTSIDE, and i am getting rushed by incoming and spawning humans, which totally ignore the monster and vice versa. Ofc they tend to aimbot me also from a 200y distance with a shotgun.

the atmosphere in dark rooms or areas (inside) though are comparable with metro and keeps me playing from time to time.

needs a lot of polishing, but first impression was really good. it felt like an actual half life 2 with nitpicking flaws.

you cant do wrong playing it.

good round based rpg in a dark fantasy world where you can be a hero or the devil himself.

cooks CPU, ultrawide support missing and campaign has no matchmaking (discord helps here)
but by god emperor, this game is a lot of fun!

pros:
- great graphics
- nice core concept of aiming and POV
- immersive
- tensing rounds sometimes

cons:
- random weapons
- stutters / performance issues
- (not team) deathmatch has spawning issues
- sound is horrible sometimes
- the price.

for that price the game does not offer enough content. not even close to. wait for a sale.

fantastic modern tower defense

what a frustrating experience. i paper i never face this weird behaviour of either being flooded or screwed with lands. this had not changed since launch so i suspect it never will. ill pass on this one and continue to play cockatrice.

works pretty good. adds shortcuts to the steamdeck with artworks and can flawlessly run them without leaving the gaming mode.

the menu inside the app when selecting something from the games list is a bit buggy at scrolling though. However, everything is accessible and the app worth the 5-7€ if you want to integrate xbox gamepass comfortly. Keep in mind, it is still cloud gaming.

a bit late to the party, but anyways.

I can recommend this game as an easier soulslike. the outfits looking cool, composing my own character with weapons, gear and perks is fun. the attribute and perk system is not too deep and enables the player to focus more on actual gameplay and the individual playstyle than on making spreadsheets and/or theorycrafting, like it can be done in other big soulslike titles.
Though, I cant rate the story because I simply skipped it entirely. Just wanted a soulslike experience.

However, the biggest negative point IMO is the leveldesign. Man how often did I got lost there. It is really a pain point.

Plays good on steamdeck with some tweaks and actually is looking okayish. Medium/High Settings with reduced fps/hz.
