Capcom is secretly, and without our consent, adding their Enigma DRM to a bunch of their older games. It's an extremely abhorrent and invasive kernel-level DRM that's somehow worse than Denuvo. Meaning that this game probably has literal malware installed with it now.

Fu‎‎‎‎‎ck you and everything you stand for, Capcom.

The research done on Enigma is public knowledge. If you think we're all wrong then you can come back to this discussion when you're able to write your own game hack or actually have some reversing experience, until then I'm not going to listen to you because it's clear you have zero clue what the fuck you are talking about. I study compsec as a hobby and I've cracked DRM before. Have you? No, you haven't. Shut your mouth.

I've donated to the FSF. I run multiple websites. I moderate a retro tech archival community. I write my own software. I've been building computers since I was 14. I know a lot more about this than you do and I advice you drop the additude.

You're the reason companies like Capcom and Ubisoft can get away with bullshit like this.

You're just throwing down tech buzzwords like "kernel level" lol. Let me guess, either your malwarebytes flagged it or you read an article where someone else had their malwarebytes flag it?

Well I was planning on purchasing the Megaman X series again on PC but thanks for the information about the DRM, changed my mind real quick on that. I'm going to grab an emulator instead and enjoy the franchise again that way lol

it's not fear mongering to care about what corporations are doing to the games you paid for. people like you are the reason they're allowed to keep getting away with it.

Fear mongering. People love to spread misinformation about this

you shouldn't be putting DRM in games retroactively that I bought without it regardless of what it's doing, it doesn't matter. it's unethical
