Prominence Poker is probably the best Poker game on Steam at the moment, it has a really good system in place for learning poker, a 3D world, many different modes, a great monthly tournament system, and guess what, it's actually free.

The beautiful 3D world you play in with your own customized character is really cool and adds a lot to the atmosphere, it makes it feel a lot more serious than most other Poker games when you're in an actual world with other peoples unique characters.

The game has a bunch of different Poker modes, including Head to Head and a ranked Tournament system with monthly seasons. It also has a Poker tutorial for those unfamiliar or those that want to learn and has a singleplayer mode with challenges.

A mechanic I love is that your cards aren't face up for yourself. If you want to check your cards you need to actually check them, and when you do your in-game character checks them as well and everybody else can see that you're looking at your cards.
This adds another level of realism and helps you learn to remember your cards and to remember suits. Constantly re-checking your cards is a pretty big tell.

This game actually is free, the only reason ever to buy chips in Prominence Poker is if you play so bad that you actually lose absolutely everything and you want to get back in playing right away, or if you want to buy cosmetic clothing for your character.
Let's keep in mind that this is a Poker game with fake money, it's not real Poker with real money, and this game understands that so it gives you enough chips to never buy any unless as I stated above you lose absolutely everything and you want to play again right away, and that's wonderful. The amount of play-money Poker games that force you to spend a bunch of money if you want to have just a little bit of fun is ridiculous. I'm very happy that this game isn't like that.

The only real negative I have to say about this game is how dead it is. It has an average of 100-120 players.
The developers haven't been active in over a year(which means 0 updates in over a year), so that explains why it's dead.

If you like Poker, or even if you want to learn Poker I recommend this wholeheartedly. Try it out and help get some life back into this game!

Edit: After reading some negative reviews I just have to mention the following: the people negatively rating this game because of "RNG" must be off their nut or have little to no understanding and experience in Poker.

If you've played Poker before, if you understand how Poker works or if you've even just watched some good Poker TV shows like High Stakes Poker you'll know that "RNG" isn't always nice to you.
If you flop a Full House, go all in, some one calls you and they get a better Full House on the River and win... then guess what, that's Poker for you. You should know these things can happen in Poker, so deal with it.

Negatively rating the game because you got beat with your good hand is mental.
It's POKER ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, Poker is a mix of skill and luck. Sometimes you get really lucky but someone else gets even luckier.
