Remember the collective excitement of Mashed's original multiplayer? The thrill of nudging a friend off the track, or hitting them with an oversized hammer? The irresistible urge to play 'just one more round' on that one map? There have been several attempts to replicate that classic experience, but none quite hit the mark, in my view.

Until Make Way arrived. This game not only successfully recaptures the vintage mayhem of its predecessor but also introduces a novel and brilliant feature: players can add their own segments to the track after each round! This leads to an ever-expanding, intricate maze of loops, ramps, twists, and hazards. The track's evolution after each round offers players the chance to learn, strategize, and settle scores.

The diversity in track components and weaponry ensures a continuous learning curve, and the game’s physics strikes a perfect balance of chaos, keeping the annoyance focused on rivals, not the gameplay.

Make Way is evidently a product of passion, and it earns my highest praises. Kudos to Ice Beam!

A truly mesmerising experience, especially in VR.

Make no mistake: This is a superb work of singular artistic vision.

With a simple narrative - told entirely without spoken words - that becomes increasingly more entwined as more layers are revealed, this fascinating study of memory, loss and regret is a joy to behold.

The quality of gameplay mechanic, visual aesthetic and audio atmosphere combines to create an experience unlike anything I've seen in a video game before. It's as if it took the heart-wrencheing montage sequence from UP and turned it into an interactive experience, blended seamless with time-bending puzzle set-ups reminiscent of BRAID. A special mention should be made for the animation. All of the character movements are absolutely sublime in their sensitivity, conveying a wealth of character: The way Carl bounds up the stairs two at a time, the cheeky charm of the little boy, the emotion that is conveyed in a simple posture change or a clench of the fist. This is animation of the highest story-telling order.

As you may be aware, this game is centred around and inspired by the music of (and a particular music video of) prolific prodigy Steven Wilson, who coincidentally is riding high in the charts at the time of writing. The choice couldn't have been more appropriate, as his complex, layered brand of emotional ballad used in this title perfectly underpins the themes at play.

This masterpiece is the among best that grown-up, emotionally-infused gaming has to offer, and the world is a better place for THE LAST DAY OF JUNE. If you love a good yarn, you owe it to yourself to pick this up.

This is an excellent proof of concept. Proposes a very enjoyable method of locomotion.

Works on Oculus Rift, but takes a little while to figure out the controls.
