Beat the base game playing entirely co-op, and wow what an absolute gem of a game.
There is no tutorialization for anything, but it adds to the experience. You figure everything out as you go - which upgrades do what, etc.
Very enjoyable, relaxing experience with a friend or partner to just kick back and chat while you expand your kingdom. There are stressful moments, and you'll probably die but you'll have a good time.

Early Access Review
I only sort-of like tower defense games, but this game came highly recommended. Gave it a try and it is surely the best tower defense game I've played. If you like roguelites and tower defense, this is a must buy.

Loving it so far, I'm sure I will get a lot of game out of this purchase. Highly recommend for anyone that enjoys the roguelike/roguelite(?) genre

Gloomhaven, but better!

I finished the entire Gloomhaven board game in-person over the course of almost 2 years. I've played multiple digital Gloomhaven campaigns as well (not to completion). This game is just a more streamlined version. Using your phone to play takes a little bit of getting used to, but it works surprisingly well and is pretty intuitive.

If you like Gloomhaven, you'll LOVE Sunderfolk.

Recommending strictly for the goofy voice lines, the banter between the characters is just hilarious.
There's a surprising amount of content for such a small amount of money. I've spent a lot more on a lot less. Definitely worth checking out with some buds!

Plays flawlessly over Steam Remote Play. Highly recommend with a group of friends and with Remote Play, only 1 person needs to own the game!

If you like this game, try Ultimate Chicken Horse. Or if you've played Ultimate Chicken Horse and wanted to play that kind of game with more people, this plays 6!

Great game, infinitely replayable.
I've personally been having a blast playing multiplayer with Steam Remote Play - highly recommend as a very cheap multiplayer option (only one person has to own the game). It is so easy to lose track of time bashing your head into Danger 5 with your friends that insist on playing Pacifist, but you'll still have a great time.

Early Access Review
The visuals carry this game - it's so pretty.
I'm not far in, but I don't really understand why friendly fire is on by default - that was very confusing and frustrating. There are power-ups that buff you while you're next to team mates but friendly fire is default??? Thankfully it is easy to disable, but it was unclear why my group was dying on repeat.

Regardless, definitely early access but fun! Worth the ~$7.50 I got it for during the Steam Summer Sale

I have strictly played the Campaign mode with a group of 5 total. The first ~5 hours were an absolute blast as we discovered all the systems and started to flesh out interesting builds with our characters. The game felt like an absolute steal at the ~$7 we got it on sale for.

The fun started trending downward quickly after that. The combat got extremely repetitive; a lot of repeat enemies, bosses, and mechanics. There are also multiple Shrines that are in every fight that provide insane benefits like +20% damage so there are no interesting positioning decisions to make - just sit inside the OP Shrine.

I'm sure the roguelike mode would breathe some fresh air into it for us, but we got burned out on the campaign. Definitely fun for the first several hours! Highly recommend picking up on sale, but maybe not at $20.

If you enjoy co-op dungeon crawler roguelikes, this game is great. As some have mentioned, the loop can get repetitive quickly; the variety comes from playing different classes, specializations, and meta progression and boy are there a LOT of meta progression systems in this game.

The base building is quite deep. Your base isn't crafted, but upgraded and each upgrade comes with new systems and additional unlocks for your characters. One aspect I really like about the game is that it has incentives for players that enjoy playing the same character and different incentives for players that enjoy switching it up and trying other classes.

For players that enjoy playing a single character and making them stronger, you can do exactly that; you can spend all of your gold on incremental % gains on that character and various other upgrades. For players that enjoy trying all the classes, most (maybe all? not sure) currencies are shared and can be spent on any character. This includes skill points if you want to try different abilities and specialization paths.

I've spent a lot more money on a lot less - definitely worth checking out.
