Early Access Review
Squad was the best FPS I had ever played. It struck a sweet spot between the simplicity of Battlefield and the complexity of ARMA that hit just right. Slow paced and tactical enough to scratch that immersion itch but fast and simple enough to be accessible to more people.

The Infantry Combat Overhaul (ICO) swung that balance wildly off. They managed to create an FPS where the fundamental act of aiming and shooting a firearm is not fun. It takes a comical amount of time to shoulder your rifle, aim and fire. I feel like I am fighting the game mechanics instead of the enemy team. It just isnt fun anymore, I hope the system sees some further refining because there is no replacement for the core game play Squad offers. Some aspects of the ICO are great and add a lot of potential strategy to the game but at the end of the day if shooting is not fun in your first person shooter everything else is kind of irrelevant.
