10/10 perfect game

This remaster was done with so much love and care, and as someone who played both the original NES plus the 3D remake we got on DS and PSP, I can say with confidence this is the best version of the game.

The biggest improvement immediately is autosaving, which means dying in a dungeon will only send you back to the start of room instead of the beginning of a dungeon like in the NES and PSP versions.

Along with that, the sprite work of both the battles and the overworlds is fantastic, with things like sparks of fire on the screen while in a lava filled area. Really, it's gorgeous. The sound effects feel great, and it's nice having it actually sound like you're slashing someone with a sword.

The soundtrack is also better than ever, with some breathtaking arrangements of the original soundtrack. My favorites are both overworld themes, they did an actually incredible job.

If you like Final Fantasy 3 for DS/PSP and want to replay to see how a version closer to the original compares, I highly recommend this version! And if you have yet to play Final Fantasy 3, this is definitely the way to experience it for the first time!
