It's a game about walking very slowly around a mediocre-decent looking map. You won't encounter any enemies or players. On average it seems like you meet like 2 mobs or 1 player per half an hour. There is technically combat in the game (assuming you manage to see anything to shoot) but everything from drawing your weapon, to reloading is painfully slow. The whole thing appears to be running in slow motion. Even looting chests takes like 10 seconds. If you're the sort of person that enjoys walking simulators like Myst, then this might be for you. If you're looking for any sort of combat a la Borderlands, then you won't find it here

Finished Early Access - the game kind of lives on its theme and environment, but compared to TQ1, the mythology is inferior. We didn't really get to see anything familiar from Greek mythology the way we did in TQ1 (Sparta, Delphi, Minotaur, Cyclops) - yea there's Moirai, Pan and Nemesis, but they're hardly as significant, well-known, or interesting as, for example the Minotaur.

While the zone looked nice, it grew kind of old in the end. There wasn't really any variety. Zone was large though, and if we get more varied zones in the same size range, we're good.
Exploration is yes and no. In one sense there are plenty of side paths with treasure chests, but in another sense it all feels very linear. The paths are made for you, you only get to choose which one to take. There's really no free roaming as you can't really stray from the path - it's all blocked off.

The story of "you're not just a dude, but prophesized to become this ..god-slaying hero" is lame. Let us be just dudes that grow powerful as part of our quest. You know, like an RPG. Don't water it down with the "you were always meant to be this superman-type character" - it's offputting.

Everyone sounds very British - which would be fine, were it not that the game is based in Greece. The problem with that is you also get wrong pronunciations of names.

The modifiers on skills is a good touch, but in the end you still keep using Regular Attack. Which is actually a good thing, except the regular attack is so powerful that there's no real reason to use actual skills. Of course that's a balance issue, so easily fixed.

Combat is decent, the dash and block work surprisingly well actually - more so that you can upgrade them. Shields giving you Barrier (and enemies actually being strong enough to make it useful) makes for a good incentive to actually use a shield, and live out your Spartan fantasy.
The pace of the combat is relatively slow. That's good. We don't want "right click once and the screen explodes"
Do not nerf the monsters. Absolutely do not. The monsters being tough is a good thing you've got going right now.
Figuring out your actual DPS might be confusing, but it's not a bad thing. Actually paying attention to the stats on items, and giving it a bit of a think is something we've been missing. You don't want to go "This gives more overall dps so i equip this"
The item types (plate robes etc) and items having Pierce and Strike or whatever damage is pretty cool too.

The skills are very passive though - you've got actual passives, then some skills which can turn into passives, activatable skills with passive effects, and passive buffs to your basic skills as well as Rage etc. Whether that's good or bad, I'm not gonna say. But we could do with less Earth Enchantments and more .. things that actually do something.

But given that this is Titan Quest, the one thing that will decide this game is whether we will see more mythology, and more biomes (Ancient Egypt) - The Pyramids, Alexandria, Great Wall of China, Yellow Emperor were what made TQ cool and not just another D2 clone. That's what this game is about. If you lose that, you lose the soul of it.

At its current state, I'd give it a strong 8. But most of that is because of the setting. If we got to see more mythological locations, it could get a 10 just off of that alone, far as I'm concerned.

It's not really a game, it's more of an "Interactive Racism" - but since it's directed toward russians, then 10/10 I support.

It's an all right game, But it's not a city builder if that's what you're looking for. Neither does it feel like one, the houses may as well be just boxes.
It's a puzzle game through and through. Also it starts to choke you in the end, and not in the good way. It also dissuades you from using your upgrades on making higher level buildings, because that's a lose condition.
The aesthetics seem soft and relaxing at first, but it begins to feel dull, lifeless, gray and boxy after a while. I'd like to see trees and citizens wandering about to feel like its a town. Still, it's a nice game to have in the background.
7/10
