It's a good game, don't get me wrong. A solid 7/10 for me.
But between multiplayer being hard to get into the server you want (for public servers only) and the lack of unique content (currently) I could not recommend this game currently for the $5 price tag it currently has on it... Hard to say I'll recommend it to anyone. So, would I recommend the game as is? No. It may be a product ready for the public, but assuming the game improves over the next year or so, I may change my opinion.
Seeing as it's a game published by Ghost Ship, and the direction previous Ghost Ship titles have went, I definitely get the feeling it'll get more interesting as time goes on. After all, Deep Rock Galactic is amazing for how little content it has. Though I wouldn't be surprised if it flops.

Here's my expectations for the future of this game:
- Randomly generated levels (currently each expedition has a pre-generated map, which gets boring and repetitive. Not fun unless you're with friends.)
- Random starting enemies (nothing wrong with the ones that are currently there, but more variety would be nice, especially with the heat system)
- Implementation of a system where you can choose your starting perks/mods (say, if you max out a class you can add 3-5 more cards at the cost of less starting money?)
- More features for in-game communication (I understand most people use discord, but I'd at least like to quickly type out something instead of pinging a location to get people's attention)

Early Access Review
You can make very pretty maps in a few minutes.
You can also play TTRPGs on the maps you make with custom minis.

I respect wanting to make a survival game.
The art style, story, mechanics... Basically everything in the game reminds me of Genshin Impact, and we already know how much of a scam that game was. Still shocks me that people play it unironically.
You want a good survival game that's free? Muck is a better option.

Although...
Give this game a few years in development, a proper dev team, no generic f2p bs... and maybe some closed beta testers... Maybe you have a good game going... Otherwise, I wouldn't recommend this uninspired game to anyone... Unless you want to play as a clown or a JoJo's style male character.

From the short time that I've played, I've gleaned two things from this game.
One: The multiplayer isn't bad, you just gotta get good.
Two: The campaign from what I've played has an interesting storyline I would follow.

So why am I giving this a negative review?
Simply because it's not worth $60 for a campaign that, seeing how most Triple A games are going, will probably suck. And if you're only getting it for the multiplayer? Yeah... You're better off with one of the older games.

Dwarves? Check
Awesome Space Rig? Check
Procedurally generated caves that manage to confuse and annoy you? Hell yeah, brother.
Anything and everything being destructable? Not really, but what is makes up for it in voicelines.
Teammates constantly annoying you in chat or in-game with the ping tool? Never encountered that issue, so no.
Overall experience? Dwarves dig holes. That's what you're doing, and disagree or not, this game is for you, with four classes and a lot of playstyles for them (even though most everyone picks one and sticks with it).

Anniversary Edition: Bethesda gives away what they price as $40 of mods normally for $60 (base game + DLC full pricing, or cheaper dependent on sales). What they didn't account for is that you can probably find the same mods or better for free on the Nexus or their built-in modlist (which I think is just a bad version of the workshop).

Other than that, great game for 10+ years, I definitely don't own two copies of Skyrim on two platforms. I'd recommend this as a starter game for people new to RPGs.

Even though I got this as a Humble Bundle gift, the 3 hours I spent playing have really made me enjoy this game.
I'll say this: Play the game with a controller. It makes it way better in terms of difficulty.

As for the pros and cons.
Pros:
- Arcade-Style movement (no needless gimmicks)
- A sense of fufillment (after murdering that one predator/hunter that's been buggin' ya.)
- A fun grind (Grinding resources not only heals you, but also is a lot of fun, although the amount you get is kinda small)
- The narrator. In my opinion. I do like the narrator. It adds a bit of background noise every now and then, without being annoying.
- Combat. (If you haven't played already, I won't tell you why I like the combat.)

Cons:
- Being perfectly honest? The only one I have is how slow leveling is. You either need an enemy of equal or greater level to you, or kill some humans. And the prey barely give you anything depending on their level.

TL;DR
Overall good, just don't like the leveling.

Should you buy it? Yeah. Absolutely.

Spent about three hours just downloading it.
One hour spent playing.
Do not install this game if you're looking for a "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" ripoff.
Do not install this game if you're new to the First Person Shooter Genre (although, if you are considering this game, I would expect you aren't new.)
And definitely do not install this game if you hate loading screens/waiting in general. 2-3 minutes just to find a match is worse than Battlefront 2 and it's average of 1 minute and 30 seconds, at least when it comes to finding a match.

Other than that, it's a fairly good game for people who can tolerate all that. Still don't recommend it, just because you're bored.
