As a LONG time SMITE player and having my Hi Rez account created in 2012, mained Ranked Joust since the beginning of time and seeing how the game grew from a fetus to an adult, it's time for me to drop my review despite quitting this atrocity of a game which once was a HUGE part of my life now let me get into the details on why (It might be long so bare with me).

Hi Rez are none other than money hungry goblin developers who will do ANYTHING to leech money off you in ANY possible way. There once was a time where there was chests only for skins. Sure there were season tickets but it was a a decently priced season ticket and it was a one time payment and not ''oh pay $5 extra for an upgrade to get the same skin but in a recolour''. SMITE has literally turned into a microtransaction haven and developers are more focused on cosmetics and vibrant skins for gods rather than actual gameplay which is a shame.

They ruined Conquest AND Joust, I used to play Ranked Joust religiously because of how perfect the game mode was. Sure there were tryhards but it was bearable if you had a premade who you'd play with on a daily basis. When Hi Rez announced a new map for Joust I was literally so excited, I couldn't contain myself until the day it was released.. I was absolutely disappointed at how horrible the map was and how they completely ruined it. Joust is supposed to be chinese, not a futuristic, corrupted arena type of vibe. The whole feeling for Joust wasn't the same anymore and the thing is it's not only Joust. Arena doesn't feel Roman, Conquest just feels like I'm playing The Legend of Zelda, Siege is just a sad excuse of a game mode. It's like Hi Rez are purposely pushing old players away who have legit played the game since the beginning of time with their stupid changes and ugly features. I'm all for change but make change when it's actually needed, not forced.

I quit SMITE back in January and I don't think I'll be returning anytime soon due to how pathetic the developers are and I'm deeply saddened that what once was my favourite game and legit my growth into multiplayer type of games is now nothing but a joke and a shambles to me. Shame on you Hi Rez, shame on you.
