Great game, ridiculously well polished and extremely addictive. Every aspect of it excels from amazing art, soundtrack, stupidly sexy voice acting, clever narration and likable characters. It's a roguelike in essence but somehow doesn't come with the normal frustration of a roguelike, because there's always progress whether it's with character conversations back at the house, or upgrades that enhance the next run. The great variety of weapons, enhancements, god boon combinations and so forth ensure that each run different - it's repetitive but not boring, much like how sports games always have the same rules but play out differently enough each time to be interesting.

It's also really obvious from the way the game is designed that the creators want you to be able to have the whole experience no matter what skill level you're at, so while it's challenging, it's also accessible (as opposed to the multitude of games that are inevitably compared to Dark Souls). The way they balance challenge and accessibility is truly impressive.

10/10, I've spent countless hours on it, and still keep thinking about getting another game in all the time.
