"I hope this hurts".

It sure does.

Absolutely worth buying. Even if the game is free outside of steam, it's worth the price and even more considering the vast amount of content.

Update: I've poured an additional 14,000 hours into this game, which may not be evident since I jumped to the experimental version.

I'm quite fond of martial arts, particularly Judo. It's exhilarating. However, I was confused for weeks as to why zombies would mysteriously disappear when I employed my Judo techniques in dilapidated urban homes. More often than not, in the kitchen...

Turns out, the zombie child, little miss Mary didn't magically evaporate. In my encounters, these undead assailants, upon feeling the force of my Judo expertise, were inadvertently being manoeuvred into the oven behind me. I say manoeuvred but it's not quite as gentle as it sounds.

But in all honestly, I've never felt this compelled to recommend a game.

Where else do you encounter eldritch horrors, battle to flee, attempt to retain your sanity with copious amounts of whiskey, marijuana, and cocaine, only to awaken to hallucinations? You laboriously limp home, injuries impeding you—mitigated slightly by the whimsy of Heelys. Just to come face to face with what you assume is a hallucinatory Acid Zombie (spoiler: it's very real). A harrowing skirmish ensues, after which, to avoid further injury, you set the fallen creature alight. Your plan? Gracefully depart the scene on your Heelys. Only, there's a twist: intoxication can invert your controls in-game, and, in a cruel twist of fate, I found myself skating directly into the inferno.

That, friends, is the poetic conclusion to one of my most enduring game sessions. While also being why I recommend it.

More addicting than I would have expected...
