My initial impressions are great so far! This is a solid retro-style FPS. The guns feel great to shoot, they all have satisfying secondary fires, and the level design is, for the most part, pretty damn good! E1M1 was a little rough, some of it looked too same-y/maze-like, but E1M2 was top notch.

There's currently one episode with 5 maps (+ 1 bonus map) available in the Early Access release. I've thoroughly enjoyed the two that I've played so far (E1M1 and E1M2 on Hard difficulty), with the first map taking 30 minutes to finish (though I missed a couple secrets), and the second being nearly an hour long. The store page mentions that there'll be a new episode added (for free) every 2-3 months, and by the end of it's Early Access period there'll be 6 episodes total, with 5 maps for each episode. If they're all as lengthy as the two I've played so far, then this'll have quite the price to content ratio.

My only gripes are minor ones that I hope/imagine will be fixed during the Early Access period. The movement is a bit floaty and has momentum (I occasionally got stuck on corners due to this), the automap is a little busy looking, and each level (so far at least) only has one song that loops endlessly. The game also likes to have enemies placed in distant unreachable spots to snipe you, but they're in the dark so you can hardly see them at all. I'd also appreciate an autosave option, because I'm awful at remembering to save mid-mission (as you might see in my video above..).

Otherwise I'm really enjoying this and looking forward to playing more!

Here's my playthrough of E1M2 as well, if you've gone this far down my review and still aren't sold. I thought the map design in this one was much, much better than the first level.
