It's the kind of game that probably takes 1000 hours to master, but is still fun as a newbie. The community has a TF2-like atmosphere about it, wherein there's plenty of silly players playing instruments, smacking you with frying pans, and shouting at each other with character voicelines. Every time I play I've had a goofy interaction with someone, and I think that's part of what keeps me coming back.

You may hear complaints about some of the more unrealistic parts of the combat, but honestly it's never bothered me, and I would go as far as saying that it's one of the major factors to why so many people have hundreds of hours in this game. Once you understand the mechanics, it never really feels unfair, and it can be very rewarding when you finally cave in the skull of the guy that has killed you 30 times with one of those funny techniques as well.
