Enjoyed the experience, though unfortunately shorter to 100% complete (3-6 hrs average) when compared to other puzzle games. Has a more fleshed out concept and more complete game then the sokoban-like puzzle designs you might see on a site like increpare games but the concept could have definitely been explored further with more mechanics and "levels" (although I say that about a lot of video games).

If I had to expand upon this game I might include concepts such as the removed snow spelling / indicating something (or trying to spell something across multiple garden subsections), the butterflies indicating a specific spot the snowmen needed to be placed when there are multiple possible positions, and eventually combing all the snowmen together at the end elimination tournament style instead of just the first step that was implemented. Completing this game was fun, relaxing, and makes me want to eventually play A Monster's Expedition from Draknek which in theory should have more increasingly complex mechanics and a longer average playtime.

A really good refined puzzle to invest yourself in when you have time to sit down and focus. I found it very enjoyable and wish other creators made more games like this. I love the progression and build up of the puzzle mechanics which gives a the game a natural difficulty increase over time while keeping each individual puzzle feeling fresh. This game is amazing to me for its scope but I think it is best experienced "blind" so I won't elaborate. I beat this a while back but remember it from time to time, after playing the other puzzles that increpare occasionally releases on their website.

I simply pull up this game whenever I want to relax and jump (virtually) around in a world dedicated to not falling in the lava!

Edit: While I still recommend this game I feel it necessary to add a few things since the most recent update. I'm glad the developers are still supporting this game and keeping it alive by adding and tweaking content especially since I know it is not one of their more popular games. It feels more complete but I feel some inconsistencies could still be improved upon.

1. They re-added a "ticket" system (that they had a slight variation on in beta) that allows you to sell duplicate toy accessories and buy ones you might not have. While in general the system is fine and supports having less accessories than starred challenges it re-adds duplicate toy accessories, something I was very happy they removed from the game when they released it. I get that they wanted players who aren't going to 100% the chance to get an accessory they want but then just make it so that they can pick the accessory (or category of accessory) to receive when completing a challenge. Duplicates are currently a pain because there is no "sell-all" button, when you go to sell them individually they currently equip to your character (even if you just wanted to sell them), duplicate emotes make you have to look through all 8 characters to make sure you sold them all, it takes on average 4-6 duplicates to buy a different accessory. In general, the ticket system is okay but duplicates annoy me and don't make sense. Since I already had every non extra-special accessory I don't know if the game only awards new accessories (and emotes and stickers) first and gives duplicates only when you have everything, but I hope that is the case.

2. Starred challenges have always been inconsistent between the original level worlds and the curated worlds but they did at least finally update it to allow more than 6 stars per curated world. It now feels less like the community developed levels are less like mini-challenges and are a full blown world to complete. This is good with the exception of not awarding players stars for completing trial levels and extra challenges like using buddy in the curated levels. While probably less than 1% of players try to 100% this game, getting 100% based on the number of stars feels off because of this. While this game is geared more towards a player challenging themselves, it is important to realize that star challenge difficulties vary based on the one of the four character powers you selected. This also makes getting all stars feel less like achieving 100% in the game. If stars were never meant to fill that role (though they did so when there were no curated levels and only one power) then I wish the developers added a way to keep track of every possible achievement so there was an indicator as you get too 100%.

3. This is a minor gripe but I have always disliked the random level geometry slope slides you can inconsistently get speed boosts from in order to get a lower time. If you play this game casually this aspect does not apply but it is a bit annoying to go for a drastically lower time on a level that would take hours to grind just so you can get your character to land on a pixel precise spot that gives a speed boost that you then have to maintain for the rest of level else you have to spend another 30 minutes to get that opportunity again.

Minor things to note; The curated levels don't have as good lighting and textures or as many miscellaneous objects as the main world levels. This is expected, but I wish they were improved instead of just being curated (they probably would if more people played the game). New daily challenges give way to more daily players (hopefully) but duplicates annoy me as stated above.

It is easy for me to apply criticism to this game since I care about it, have a lot of hours in it, and have sentimental value since I played a "Hot Lava" game as a child in my house but If you like self challenges, first-person perspective movement, and lava give this game a try.

This might be just a first hour-after midnight comment but I can completely feel and become immersed in the XCOM-like crime fighters environment the developers went for here. From the cartoonish style to the specific personalities given to each "officer" (which I hope become strategic in not combat situations) to the impactful close quarters combat, this definitely appeals to me overall as its own game that I will probably get into. I can't help get excited about the potential strategy layers that currently exist and await me to the ways it can be expanded upon with the obvious mod support. I think having a city-scale XCOM that can be just as rewarding as the global versions gives many players, including myself, a different setting and perspective that was otherwise unexplored.

This game is awsome to play and brings me back to the days of playing "Return of the Incredible Machine: Contraptions" as a kid. I like the community section and it's always a blast to be able to build your own contraptions to mess around.
