1.0 Is Out

Played the game before this update and safe to say basically all the bugs that hindered game play are gone!

Notes on the Game

  • Looking after the kids is much more manageable now! With the kids having much better AI and not getting themselves stuck. No more kids throwing their items all over the place too, all storage works as it should.
  • Achievements being here now is a big plus; it's fun to have some of the more negative occurrences reward you with a nice achievement for your profile to soften the blow if a child... let's say they went to a different camp hahaha...
  • Still a big fan of the art style it really suits the vibes of the game.
  • You progress at a suitable pace you don't get things too slowly but you also don't knock everything out in one year (the days camp is set that year) the adjustable day speed is handy to account for needing shorter time for play sessions or needing a little extra to make days not feel like a rush.
  • The music makes me feel really nostalgic for old american summer camps- I am neither american nor have I gone to a summer camp- it's perfect for the game.

All in all if you were interested in picking up the game and hesitated now is a good time to give it a try!

It's a very quirky game with management aspects that aren't super overwhelming which at times is silly, funny and a little bit creepy! Have fun at summer camp!

I love the story and the gameplay that said definitely wait for the patches to come out which the creator is working on ATM to fix issues with drop rates of certain things being too low, balancing heating and sleep time

I don't usually review games but here goes!

I'd like to start with the fact I haven't finished the game yet but I'm a decent amount in to say some thoughts on it; I may update this once I do if I have more to add.

I'll start off by saying I adore the cutscenes in this game the way they're styled is beautiful and they really get you into the mood to explore. Not only that, but they do bring out a few emotions which is probably helped by the great voice acting and music. I also enjoy the way the characters act with eachother it gives they some clear dimension and feels like they do actually know eachother.

The gameplay itself is about what I expected. My interest in this game spurred from the fact I was a big fan of the wii game endless ocean and really wanted something that captured that same feeling. Traversing in this game is pleasant (I am using mouse and keyboard) one tap of the shift key and you're off at a nice pace while still being able to turn easily with the mouse, there's also a convenient quickturn (s), and you can seamlessly switch between scan mode mid swim without any slow down. When playing, you have a sizable set area (on of 8 I believe) to explore with some goals to complete which you can do straight away or explore a bit first. Though, you cannot backtrack until you finish story mode.

My highlights of the game so far would have to be the creature interactions, the environmental story telling and the music. I also like some of the little touches like the suit lighting changing to match which light type you are using. The creatures are also very nicely animated.

A few things I personally had a few issues with would be there's a school of fish in the third dive I believe which is super glitchy but I expect they'll patch that out you can still scan them they just act and look a bit funky and some of the menus would be easier to navigate if you could also use the mouse to navigate them but that's about it really.

I will also note it doesn't seem to be the longest game (again I haven't finished it yet just noting from how far I'm in and what the game page itself says about the amount of dives) and I think most of the gametime comes from finding the creatures but if that's what you get the game for that's not really a problem it's a pretty cheap game and it's clearly had a lot of effort put into it and I personally think it's worth it.

Katamari is a fun game with great music but the fact of the matter is it shouldn't be physically painful to play a game on PC with a keyboard also the locked resolution (not even default full screen or full screen windowed) and no options until after all the tutorial is pretty inconvinient this game belongs on console if you have a controller go for it tho you have to do the tutorial with the keyboard accourding to other reviews

The puzzles are simple and fun and it's a good game to play if you just want something short and relaxing to play
